Forums - Sony - Anyone believe or hope Sony will leave the videogame business?

No.

Without Sony, this industry would be nothing!

The videogame industry existed before Sony, and could exist after it.  Same with about every other company.  If you have doubts, go watch Bladerunner and notice the Atari Mt. Fuji symbol (see my avatar logo).

Have you been in this site after 9/1/2009? If so, why would you ask such a question?

Seriously, who's alt account is this guy!?!?!

Serious thread is serious?

If it is serious, then Sony made gaming mainstream. Without Sony, we would all be geeks.

Wasnt there a thread started by a mod saying duplicate threads would either be locked or the user banned or something.....or was that just me imagining it in hopes of keeping this website from crumbling with stupidity?

Why would duplicate threads get a user banned? It's not their fault(but this thread is a different case)

This is a duplicate thread....people were creating a thread and then some bozo would make another, like this one, changing only company names or whatever because they were offended or something......It was happening often, not too long ago i dont think.

Now, had the user linked to the other thread, and posed his own question with his own theories based on actual intrigue and reasoning, id see nothing wrong with that. This, however, is dumb, trivial and lame....and the OP already did it twice to show his maturity when he quoted the poster who asked why he did it further up in the thread.

i did it once to a guy who was making an argument that piracy is a moral thing to do.  it was funny (imo) but locked down pretty quickly.  it deserved to get locked though just like the guy who made the original thread deserved a kick to the nuts.

Videogames were becoming increasingly mainstream as people who played videogames as kids grew up with them..  It stopped being geek with Nintendo.  The first serious branching out of the core/geek set I see is with the Wii.

Anyhow, what I am saying is that, Sony or no Sony, the videogame industry will go on.  It went on past Sega, and Atari also, and can go on, even is Sony no longer has a console.

It is one thing to do a parody thread.  It is another one to copy verbatum and change a few words.  I have done such parody threads in the past.  I may of also fragged the guy who also made that thread when you did.
