Forums - Sony Discussion - Anyone believe or hope Sony will leave the videogame business?

Anyone here believe or hope that Sony will end up taking such a loss in the videogame industry that they will drop out and stop making videogame systems?  If so, is it just a fantasy you are sure won't happen, or do you actually believe it is possible?  If it is possible, how do you see it coming about?  Thinking stuff, at least, along the lines of Sega or Atari.  In short, no longer have a console on the market.

And if you are one who longs for this happening, what would you want to see the world to be like?  Do you want Microsoft and Nintendo to be the only two remaining companies (or there to just be one), or someone else to come along?

Anyhow, I am curious about this.  Please keep this a civil discussion.  I am posting this also because people have speculated about Microsoft leaving the videogame business in the past.  Both Microsoft and Sony have interests in other areas besides videogames, so it would be natural to speculate either one of them leaving videogames completely (even if it isn't going to happen).

Fail

I want Sony to transform into Megatron and take over the world.

Here's my opinion, I definitely don't want just one company to be at the forefront of videogames. Then they could charge you for just about whatever they wanted, peripherals, content, ect, and people would actually pay for it, just so they could play the next Final Fantasy, Halo, Gran Turismo, etc. Hell, companies like Microsoft are forcing peripherals already...

You're lazy ahah

I want Nintendo Microsoft and Sony to hold hands and follow the yellow brick road.

I concur with this statement.

Dude.  Please.  It is fine to post a similar message as I had posted, but taking the words I wrote, and changing a few, is not cool.  Anyhow, multiple threads regarding Sony leaving the videogame business had been posted before the price cut.

What? Deja Vu

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
