lol wow!!!!

in both cases I think 360 ones will sell more

Really? You think 2 established franchises in popular genres that have sold millions of copies and were well reviewed and are very much looked forward too will have higher sales than 2 new IP's in 2 non mainstream genres (MAG = Online only huge team gane, solo play non existent) Daaaaarrrrtthhhhhh.

Gee darth ever since you bombed you UC2 prediction youve been taking the easy road, huh!

Online only is not THAT niche anymore since Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2.

Did I mention that I can't wait for Alan Wake?

Since when are L4D and L4D2 online only? I thought each had a single player campaign.

campaign was basically coop only. Okay, since you like to split hairs, Left 4 Dead was 95% online.

It isn't about splitting hairs, it is about Left4Dead not being the same as a game that is unplayable to those without online.

Are we allowed to split vote? I really enjoyed Mass Effect and will buy Mass Effect 2 on day one. However, Heavy Rain interests me alot more than SCC.

the post says sony and ms exclusives... that is true.

secondly CGI is clearly asking about the ps3 v the 360 version. I see no problem here.

ps3 vs 360 version ?

you mean ps3 exclusive vs 360 exclusive right ?

then I think the same than binary solo

"Yeah 360 wins both of those head to heads. But the games really aren't competing in the same space so it's not like the PS3 games are going to be drowned out, that's the great thing about exclusives on consoles with decent install bases. You really don't need to worry about the competition's exclusives. I don't see any of these games as meaningful hardware sellers."

And I ask the same question too :

"Where are those US pre-order charts? last one we saw had pretty decent pre-orders for MAG. I wanna see what the pre-orders are like now for all these games, it would certainly help inform any discussion here."

Time to Work !

I will get Mass Effect 2! Two of the other titles at discounted prices (roughly 20-30 bucks) and possibly never look into Heavy Rain...unless my friend really wants to play it.

I would agree if others hadnt pointed out the obvious flaw in your post......not to mention L4D is not about tactical strategy, massive numbers....its run aand gun....much more appealing and easy to digest than what MAG is. And also not to mention you named one game and its sequal. Id say that defines the term niche regardless.

Also Online Only is much more niche than a game like L4D.

L4D can be played by 37Million 360 owners around the world.

MAG can be played by 24M? I believe 24M is the last known PSN number Sony released. Then let us agree like many said, that many of those are PC accounts, PSP accounts and duplicate PS3 accounts. We agree that maybe half the PS3 userbase is able to play MAG?

Anyways, as for the topic on hand I don't think Mass Effect will eat up MAG sales, just as I don't think Splinter Cell will eat up Heavy Rain sales. They are all different genres on different consoles.

Preorders were most likely inflated by the beta. I cant tell you how many times ive preordered something from gamestop and just transferred it after i decided against it or found it on amazon for less.

In the long run, if MAG is pulled off flawlessly perhaps it could outsell ME2 only based on its genre which encourages more sales than rentals. However, from what ive seen, its sort of a mixed bag...if it were all glowing user reviews, maybe just maybe in a year it could inch over ME2 but as it stands i dont see it happening.

So 360 owners will buy the 360 game and ps3 owners will buy the ps3 game.

The last number they released was 38 million I think, but PSP also has some PSN users. I don't think MAG is going to do well either
