Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Anyone believe or hope Microsoft will leave the videogame business?

Nah, I don't like the way they do business but competition makes most things better.

I love the 360 and had a blast with my xbox. No way MS is leaving the gaming business.

Had to change my sig to get some moderator to quit bitching about it......

me cause there evil and there system brakes and have no games and steal all sony games and pay for onlien arrrrrggg

Yea.. i miss DC era SEGA too.. that probably was the most innovative any videogame company has been in a short 2 yr span. The 360 is the console of choice for me this gen. But MS isnt. They control their console waay too much- banning players/modding regular words like gay-lesbian/ restricting 3rd party accessories/ ridiculously priced 1st party accessories.. i mean come on... get a grip.. or rather loosen it...They have done so stupid things like banning the BBC iplayer just coz its free.. they seem to be the only company that want to suck money out of everyone blatantly.

SONY seems to have evolved a lot in the last few yrs- and even though they did kill off SEGA theyve produced a pretty respectable piece of hardware.Nintendo is pretty retarded too in some ways but they get a free pass coz they have some terrific games- and they rarely disappoint with their iconic characters..

So seeing MS go.. yes I wouldnt mind- Im scared of what will happen next gen( $79 games?)- if they become market leaders...

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

I dont know why any gaming fan would want MS out. I for one wish the remain, because they push my favorite gaming company (Sony) and keep them striving to do better. Imagine if MS wasnt here this gen and all we had were the Wii and PS3. THe gaming industry would be basically split in half, and Sony would have no competition in the main market they are aiming at. That would have been a disaster IMO.

I am a gamer. Not a fanboy, not a troll, a gamer. So when you dont like what I have to say, remember this fact.

I wouldn't want microsoft to leave, however i wouldn't mind them not building a new console. I do think they brought in a more mature gaming market and they did bring online to a certain standard (though i do think online would have been the next step for any reasonable company producing a console an example being that both gamecube and ps2 were capable of online support for games). I just don't think i'd trust a new console by microsoft, especially since ps3 will still have another year or two strong on the market. I would love to see sega release a new console though lol

Hardcore fanboys want rival systems to fail, and their console of choice to be the only system on the market.

I have no issue with them being in the market, nor do I think they will pack their bags anytime soon.

The 360 wasn't quite right for me at the time, although I might buy it late in its life and max out on the exclusives that interest me, but it's a good console with good games - I don't see the crime in that.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

im sure lotsa people would like all three companies to work together on one console... man that would be nice. anything is possible. whos knows =P

Believe? No. Hope? No. They have done nothing but improve upon the console market but they have also lead a shift in support away from the PC as a gaming platform so I have slight reservations there.
