The hardest non-optional boss iv'e faced is the final Dr Robotnik in sonic 2 while playing with knuckles.

I beat him WITHOUT cheats! Granted it was after 3 days of trying and failing, and you could not ask me to do it again cuz it was 80% luck, but I did it!

Radec himself wasn't that hard, but the battle leading up to him was stupid difficult. It probably took me 10 hours and god knows how many tries to even fight Radec. Then when it was 2 on 1 (er, 1 on 1 since Rico is worthless), I died once before I beat the game. :|

 

Hardest boss I've ever played against? Probably any of the bosses in Ikaruga.

off the top of my head.. though something tells me a devil may cry 3 boss should be in there somewhere.

Probably we just had a different approach to the FlameLurker boss, but i'm also a melee centric character and never had any trouble with him. Just use Water Veil, Ring of Flame Resistance, Purple Flame Shield and Sticky White Stuff on your weapon and the fight goes extremely smooth.

Uh, Judge Doom, Who Framed Roger Rabbit (NES). No matter how many throwable items you have, it always comes down to that stupid charge-up punch. Sadly, I've never beaten it.

I would have kept at it as a kid, but the last boss in Sonic Rush annoyed me so much I've never finished it.

I seem to remember the last boss in Astro Boy on GBA causing a few headaches too.

Probably Advance wars 2. I was so close to losing it. I was on my last day and I just had a 1 health bomber at the thing I had to destroy.


The hardest in history would probably be the 3 hour boss fight from MGS3 or something though from what I've heard.

Flamelurker on demon souls with pure black tendency on my sceond play through, i actually began to think that is was simply impossible. The shout i gave out once id beat him was seriously loud, my girlfriend wondered what it was for but she'd never understand!

I had a similar experience, but with The Maneaters in NG+ and Pure Black Character and World Tendency. It was....fun.... xD

Hahaha, thanks for the horrible flashbacks!  I never beat that sucker either.  He probably is the hardest now that I've remembered him.
