2010 Hardware Sales Predictions

Wii: 20m- Sales will drop, but not by much.

PS3: 13.5m- It sold 12m in 2009, its only common sense it will sell more this year.

Xbox 360: 11m- It sold 11m in 2008 and 2009, I think it will sell the same.

Why do you have to make excuses to defend a product that you purchased, but that's the only connection you have to it, you don't make it, you don't lose or gain money on it. I don't see where all of the defensiveness comes in, there is no reason for you or anybody else to feel obligated to defend it. Now I would understand if one of you were a developer for the product and you slaved over said product only to hear somebody call it stupid or a piece of junk. But none of you developed it, none of you are mature enough to realize that. Choosing a product all comes down to preference, you chose said product because it is best for you. Simple as that!

Metal Gear Solid 4 is the best game of this gen (Ps3,360,Wii) ever!!!!

Sales...now MGS4, later GT5 or FF Versus =)

There is no doubt that GT5 will be the best selling PS3 exclusive but I hardly think it'll move more copies in NA than in Europe/Others.
And I'm not too confident it'll sell over 10 million either. I think it can manage to pass 8 million lifetime though, it depends on how big the installed base becomes throughout the gen and this title will keep selling till the end, GT games have legs that I've never seen on other games (GT 3 stayed in the top 20 for 4,5 years here and top 10 for nearly 3 years).

I think that GT5 will do good but I doubt it will sell over 10 million copies. Over 6 million should be guaranteed though as for the second best exclusive I'm pretty sure that Uncharted 2 will eventually outsell MGS4.

ok, i admit, my figures were off for gt5. switch up the eu and na numbers. But, I'm thinking Sony will bundle it with the 120gb ps3 in all regions, so that is 10.3 million including bundled copies. Plus, I see 2010 and 2011 to be strong years for the ps3 so 10.3 million is quite possible.

oh ya, and while god of war 3 will be a critical sucess, it won't sell 4-5 million copies. It will probably sell 3-3.5 million at most

Think GT5 will sell 10 million and be the highest selling exclusive with God of War 3 or Uncharted 3 coming second.

It's hard to tell the full list, but GT5 is obviously the favourite to finish top. I reckon Uncharted 2 will pull ahead of MGS4 into second, but then it's going to have to compete with Final Fantasy Vs XIII for second imo. Those Japan sales should help FF pull ahead.

Agent is an interesting prospect too, current rumours suggest it's going to be Sony's big exclusive for Christmas 2010, and we've seen how Rockstar can sell games already. I see no reason that game can't be 5m+ if we assume 'the best' possible circumstances.

I think there is quite a while left in this gen though, so there will n odoubt be hits we dont know about yet.
