FFIV is what I consider the first "modern" Final Fantasy. Even with the slight upgrades to the story FFIII on DS its still old school and not for everyone because of it.

IV easy...though I do suggest Tactics 2 over it but for these two choices the 4th kills the 3rd...

Played both on DS and I have to say IV destroys III. It's THAT good!
But since it'll be hard to play III after IV, go with III first! It's actualy a pretty good game!
