After the best year ps3 ever had the 360 is still 5 million units ahead

not likely that will turn around before the next generation arrives

and it also can totally forget about gaining a lead over the wii

cuz the wii is pounding bothhd consoles still in the ground aftre its worst year ever

It doesn't seem likely that PS3 will catch up, especially with a PS4 coming in 2011 or 2012



 

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

360 was over 7 million ahead earlier this year. I expect the gap to be no more then 2 million at the end of this year; and the PS3 may even take 2nd.

Before the next set of consoles (not counting DS 2 or PSP2) I GUARANTEE that PS3 will be ahead of 360; quote me if you want.

^PS3 taking the lead this year is extremely unlikely, as it isn't selling enough to overtake the 360 this year, and 360 will probably price cut at least once in 2010

The PS1 and PS2 both sold for 10 years +

Why wont PS3 continue to sell for upto 10 years? It is still curently in line with PS1 shipments/sales.

does it matter?

when the competitors release their new consoles everyone is see how things are.

it doesn't matter if it sells afterwards, it will still be seen as a loss

The gap will be 1 million by the end of 2010.

A 360 price cut WILL happen this year but thats the only thing holding PS3 back from from over taking the 360.
