Forums - General Discussion - Indiana Jones 4, what's your take?

I know this is a slightly old topic, but I'd like to bring it up again, because I still think the movie is unfairly treated.

Personally, I think it's great. After I had watched it, I had the same giddy feeling I got from watching Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade. That's not to say that's it's as good as those two, it isn't, but it certainly beats the living crap out of Temple of Doom (which was horrible imo).

So, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. What's your take?

I liked it. I just think it was a bad idea that they used aliens. If they had made the heads that of Incan gods or something I would have liked it a bit better

I thought that it was better than Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade which ironically costars the man in my avatar. I think that Shia LeBeouf swinging on a vine like Tarzan was painful to watch and that he in general just plain sucked, but the movie overall was pretty entertaining. The alien thing didn't bother me like it did other people.

Agree to disagree on Temple Of Doom though. That's my favorite Indy movie next to Raiders Of The Lost Ark.

I thought it was pretty terrible.

The fridge scene was ridiculous and in a bad way. In something like Temple of Doom you had them jumping out of the plane in the raft and landing which was ridiculous but it was in a fun way. It's one of those things that is pretty absurd but you could almost believe it happening. The fridge though, ugh, no. That was just horrible.

Then there was the greaser kid playing Tarzan which was even worse than the fridge. What's sad is that would have been a really cool and fun sequence but that completely ruined it.

What else, oh, the whole lets turn Indy into Spider-Man was stupid and the random people guarding that temple.

And of course, the aliens. Really, I don't think they could have picked a dumber ending to such an embarrassment of a movie.

I'm sure there were other parts that were just as horrible, but it's been too long for a movie I don't care enough about.

As far as I'm concerned it goes Raiders of the Lost Ark, Last Crusade, Temple of Doom and there just isn't a fourth movie.

Yeah, I don't understand why the aliens seem to bother people, they were just fine to me.

And how anyone will ever like Temple of Doom is beyond me, but agree to disagree

Suck it up, you know you actually like it

The best scene imo was the credits.

Indiana Jones has always been a ridiculous and farfetched series and Crystal Skull is no different. It wasn't as good as Raiders of the Lost Ark or The Last Crusade but it was a decent movie.

Plain awful.
