Call of Duty has become bigger than Halo anyway, Mario will always be no.1

It's huge, but CoD and GTA are certainly bigger. And Nintendo's games are also much bigger, but what do you expect from a company executive
I'm not quite sure how they're gauging this "following", maybe it's because of how often it gets played?
It still doesn't make it as universally loved as Star Wars I don't think. Even then, it hasn't been around and loved for as long as Mario.

Oh thanks for the correction man, I'm a bit off right now, for carious reasons. But I am right Halo is overrated, on this there can be no dispute
Time for hype

Oh my goodness, carious reasons, I should read these things more carefully
Time for hype
It's a very good analogy if you replace 'gaming industry' with 'FPS'.
Star Wars isn't the best film and Harry Potter isn't the best book. So the analogy works.

You're cracking me up right now Yes. Halo is overrated, but I will get all up in arms when someone says Star Wars is drivel (or even dribble).
Halo, as a franchise, is a machine. It could be argued that Halo kept the original XBOX as a viable console and justified the launching of the 360. The ripple effect from those two facts alone have changed the console market as we know it today. Additionally, the sales of Halo 3, on a much smaller install base, rival the sales of multi-platform games that (with combined install bases) had double the potential customers.
Do I agree it is quite the force that Ballmer says it is? Maybe not, but there is some merit to it.
Now regarding the emotional impact....well I think that is too personal too compare, especially when confounded by system loyalty. That is, Star Wars and Harry Potter are movies that can be seen and enjoyed by just about anyone. Halo, is limited to XBOX/360 owners, so obviously PS3, Wii fans would not feel as invested in the franchise.

new thread topic, would it be easier to dribble a harry potter book, star wars dvd, or copy of halo?
Time for hype
Diablo, Starcraft, Warcraft, GTA, Call of Duty -
All names of bigger franchises than halo.
I think that hes going a little in over his head here. There are more too.
