Forums - Gaming Discussion - on my way to pick up Bayonetta for 360.... and this SH^T happens

Yeah, GameStop employees can be pretty awesome. Last time I had an issue was when an employee told me that Wii games have no replay value. I just nodded my head and bought the Wii game anyways.

And before that there was the guy who told me to buy a PSP because "it had better graphics", right after I asked him if I could purchase a DS.

Ah well, I heard that GameStop employees from Louisiana are pretty cool, so all is not lost.

I stopped going to gamestop and started trading and buying games from Amazon. My change of heart started when I saw two gamestop employee "only" offer used games for anyone that wanted to purchase games for the wii and Ps3. But when a customer came in for a microsoft game they automatically sold them a new game. I used to have to always remind them that I never buy my games "used"; when I questioned them about these practices they both remarked that " this is the way they balance out the universe". That comment instantly turned me off to gamestop and made me a life long amazon patron.

So do people like you who say they see all this stuff just camp out in Gamestop for the day and take complete stock of their inventory while listening to every conversation?

It's not that unusual to hear a Gamestop employee say something completely stupid but stuff like that, if true, is pretty much stalking on your part.

they are many reasons to hate microsoft, and their gaming division it's just on of it.
From internet explorer fiasco, OEM monopolistic rules. low quality software and hardware, and lack of values for the company.
and they actually quite proud of saying something that they "bought", like a kid brags about his dad buying him a new car even with his low grades.

ur comment doesnt surprise me at all

u always bashing microsoft about everything they do

if you were a web developer, you would understand =(

He works at Gamestop and hates Microsoft because they bought their way in, PS3 has better games, etc. etc.

Considering how little Gamestop pays its employees, and what they have to go through, one would have to expect most who work there are raving fanboys whose purpose in life is to convert customers to their console of choice.  Think about that for a moment.

In the case of myself, I had a chance to work at a Gamestop briefly over the holidays.  I found the experience so horrible, that selling Hickory Farm sausages and cheese products and offering samples to holiday shoppers was a superior experience... and that is excluding I made more money doing the Hickory Farms gig.  I quit the Gamestop gig to do the Hickory Farms one for more hours.

Hardly man.  I did find the food good to get and take home (am I a food fanboy? ).  The job actually wasn't bad, which is what I can't say about Gamestop.

Please stop talking about Microsoft 'bribing' companies, Sony's done exactly the same thing in the past, present and will do so in to the future. Sony's marketing money and securing exclusives helped bury Sega and almost Nintendo too.

Microsoft builds crappy software, Sony builds crappy software too. Furthermore Sony charge a premium because of the 'badge' even if other Japanese (or Korean) companies can do the same for less or even better it. Sony has shown a lot of arrogance in the past across the range of it's products. This gen in the gaming division it has been deservedly humbled.
