Street Fighter 4 is out, right? Which one am I playing? Street Fighter Alpha 2 on the Sega Saturn.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is out... right? Which one am I playing? GT4 - PS2... two years ago I actually did something like 98% in the original GT1, it brings back good memories. Back then, GT5P was out, I think.

I could go on, but I guess you see my point.

Your incredible stereotyping (HD games are all the same, with different storylines, I don't want to push 70 buttons to play) and elitism (ooooooo we only want to play some games, HD gamers only care about graphics and not gameplay, they will not play Uncharted 2 when 3 is out, why would they? It's the same thing with a different storyline, and nevermind the fact that Uncharted 2 tells it extremely well, never mind that it got most of 2009 GOTY's....) Show why you post OP's such as yours.

So the fact that you love NES games means that all Nintendo games should win every GotY forever?  This is one of those "Nintendo makes classics and noone else does" arguments that makes me want to hurt Nintendo fans.  The fact that I won't play Uncharted 2 after Uncharted 3 comes out is inconsequential and an assumption on your part that isn't true.  The GotY is supposed to go wo the BEST game of the year, not "game most likely to be a classic" like this is some video game high school yearbook.

I sorry you just proved me right!  A classic game is like the hall of fame for sports.  My idea of GOTY is based on pure fun and replay value.  That is what the Wii gives.  Super Mario Bros games are like.  Jack Nicholas is to Golf - Joe Montana is to Football - Pele is to Soccer - Micheal Jordan is to Basketball need I go on?

NSMB Wii is plain and simple a better game to more people live with it!

I am totally agree with you!, but we have to learn to deal with all this "Wii Hatred" by the Video game press, i know this is annoying and is something that bother but i simply ignore them

I'm fine with the fact that more poeple like NSMBW, I mean they'd have to since more people have played it.  But what do you base that purchase off of?  you don't play the game and then make your purchase decision.  GotY is supposed to be based on a group who plays as many of the best games as possible and makes a decision on which one they played was best.  This means that it isn't based on sales, and it isn't based on what game's publisher rhymes with Wintendo.

As far as I'm aware they put up videos that companies send them - so if there isn't much Wii footage it's because the publishers arn't sending them it.

I don't think you get it?  My OP was to point out the fact that gametrailer disrespect the wii.  It wasn't a fanboy post.  It was a "WHY IN THE HELL IS DJ Hero and Beatles Rock Band in the Wii Game of the year awards over actual good Wii games.  Such as these Punch Out, Muramusa, Little King Story or even A boy and his Blob.

They do little research before they start.

I am not sure what the OP is referring to as NSMBWii was the Wii GotY.

What is far more troubling was that no game available on the Wii was nominated for overall GotY (not even NSMBWii). What makes this ironic is that the intro says the Game of the Year cannot rely on the tried-and-true -- then MW2 gets it for its multiplayer FPS (and three of the nominated games were sequels).

I actually like their reviews. I've never really payed much attention to GOTY discussions unless it's Giant Bomb so it doesn't bother me.

GameTrailers are pretty good with Nintendo games when it comes to reviews and videos in general. The only part where I might sense some slight bias is during the Game of the Year-awards, and even then it's hard to say. They clearly didn't like New Super Mario Bros. Wii as much as many others did (though they clearly think it's a very good game), and competition was fierce this year.

All of the GOTY nominees were worthy games - Batman: Arkham Asylum was a gamechanger which proved that licensed games can be awesome, and came from a pretty much unknown studio nonetheless, and was a bloody fantastic game in pretty much every right.

Assassin's Creed II solved everything people didn't like about the first one, but honestly I find it a lot more tedious than the first one and if I'd remove one of the games from the GOTY nominees it would be this one. But hey, to each their own.

Modern Warfare 2. Enough said.

Street Fighter IV was a revival of the Street Fighter-series and a great fighting game with near-flawless online, a balanced(from my experience at least) roster, awesomely rocking music(except the main theme) and stunning graphics. I'm a fighting nut who never cared about Street Fighter, but I absolutely loved this game.

And Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2... I haven't played it yet, but I've seriously considered buying a PS3 for this game (and it's predecessor). I have a very hard time believing that Uncharted 2 is not worthy of a GOTY nomination.
