I also want to point out that the bet was light hearted and in fun, not as a trash talking evolution, so I don't think people should beat him up over it, but let's be clear as to what was said...NSMB is over 2 million behind MW2 360...but LTD, there is little doubt that NSMB is going to win.

as being a BET, you would assume there is somewhat a risk for it. Reggie clearly underestimate the power of MW2 for xbox. Notice how he isn't talking about how much his game outside MW2 on DS right now. ;)

Is there a some tracking firm you've heard someone out of the big three mention for worldwide numbers? Or should he have specified by saying NPD, Gfk, and Famitsu/MC? And if you were waiting for the numbers from the three different regions, which one would come last?

Sorry to pick you out of the crowd of people using the same logic, but it really doesn't clear things up as much as people make it sound like it does. I for one think it is about US only, but I think it's obvious he was only restating his belief that it NSMBW will outsell MW2 on a single platform. The safety net of what would most likely be a lead over PS3 allows a free win while still leaping for the "shooter-centric" 360.

I think this bet has sorta gone out of hand due to how not everyone interprets the bet in the same way. Whether he meant either "on one platform" or the 360, and whether it is just US or WW seems to be argued about far too much for anyone to really set the goal on this 'bet'.

The only version of the various interpretations of the bet that NSMBW will likely lose is "just in America vs. MW2 on the 360." The 2.1m lead MW2(360) enjoys in the Americas should be enough to keep NSMBW from catching it by Jan NDP.

US is the only data that will be available anyway, there is no published data for the whole  world by a professional organization on a monthly basis....
