Not gonna happen, sorry. Iwata has acknowledged the loss of momentum from Wii Music and Animal Crossing, and I don't think he's about to lose the momentum that NSMBWii is giving them. (Given that it's been holding up for 4 weeks now, it can be called a possible momentum shifter.) Whereas Sony got good momentum with the price drop and the redesign, and launched FF13 right as it was starting to dwindle. Unfortunately, the FF series has never been one for carrying momentum, and the PS3 is slowing down again. The momentum will be lost by the time the next big game, GT5, releases. And this ties in to how a lot of Sony's properties do: They create great spikes, but they never seem to get the ball rolling for an extended period of time.

Last Rebellion will probably just like Trinity Universe bomb, but I think that a 3D Ar Tonelico game could just like a 3D Atelier actually outsell the previous 2D entry.

3D=more mainstream.

EoE and SO: TLH could hurt it's sales though, especially the last one's which also appeals to Otaku JRPG fans.

Oh no, EOE will definitely sell better.  Totally forgot it was Jan.  It'll be 150-200k imo.

The same can be said about PS3. It wouldn't even be close to Wii if it didn't have the redesign, pricecut and FFXIII although some won't admit it.

The facts were that NSMBW was released and PS3 had a redesign, price cut and FFXIII was released in December. There is no point to argue what would have happened if those events didn't take place.

As for the race between Wii and PS3 in Japan 2010, I believe it would be decided before December. winning or losing December wouldn't affect the outcome of the winer for the year.



MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

I put no by a little Wii sales are less than last year but they really are not declining fast enough for PS3 to take over just yet, plus Wii has a lot coming out for it in 2010, so 2011 should be the year of the PS3 in Japan though

Every year is the PS3's year, except at the end when all the sales data is in, lol

Oh yeah I forgot about Dragon Quest lol, oh well forget about the year of the PS3 then.

Wii will continue to outsell PS3 on a yearly basis then, do you ever think PS3 will ever out sell it??
