You'll REALLY hate F/S N then.

I'm starting to wonder if you talk crap about Heavy Rain at every possibility because you don't like the idea that Heavy Rain may look like a non game but really it has taken the cornerstones of modern wRPGs (one of your favorite genres): an ability to change the story through your actions and a dialogue system and turns it into a full game.

When you look at them, some the defining characteristics that makes something a wRPG are weirdly familiar to what people will be doing in Heavy Rain.

A controversial statement would be that WRPGs are simply Adventure games with combat and statsitics.

Tell me EXACTLY what is different about it than another adventure game.  What are you "watch"ing in this game that you dont in every single other adventure game?  When you are talking about all you do is press a button, you are talking about the control scheme, which is different, yes - but a different control scheme doesn't make it change genres.

To Akvod and Torillian:

WRPG's are games full of choice from becoming your protagonist (actual role playing) and making their decisions which affects the world around them and brings consequences or positivity. This covers more than Heavy Rain could ever cover in practice, because ultimately it is still a live or die concept. WRPG's are about more than just that. In Heavy Rain the consequence for your actions (if you cannot apply the button command on time) is really death, so you're not affecting the world around you. Take Mass Effect for instance....your actions which create prosperity, deals, bad blood, deaths side jobs, replacement, neutrality or whathaveyou are eventually found in the either the same game next part of the game spanning many galaxies. Your choices in Heavy Rain will never ever be as deep. It's not like I don't like the live or die concept, I am just saying it's quite simple.

Did you see the image and video? It was literally an yes or no choice that results in death.

And in Heavy Rain it isn't just life or death, because the challenge is living with a certain outcome. Do you want to live by killing or knockingout the robber? Do you want to live by convincing the robber to flee? And who knows what other choices were there. Could you have lived by hiding and letting the store owner get shot? Could you have lived, let the store owner get shot, and look around the store and inside the locked door?

Let it go.

@ S.T.A.G.E.

You've been given so many examples that refute what your claiming. Why not just let it go?

Official claims or your guys opinions?

Oh ok, i see, you haven't seen any video of the game or anything about it at all.  This comment made that pretty clear.  Feel free to continue talking about the game in your "fantasy land."

(Every button command ends in death if you don't get it right, and that's all there is to the interaction?  REALLY?  I mean...you really haven't seen anything about the game, have you?)

Did you even watch the two videos posted on this site about a week ago? Here's a link: http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=6372

Many, many, MANY character inputs are required (I'd say about as much, oh, I dunno, a normal adventure game). And, oddly enough, no one died (even though they weren't getting them right)!

What are you talking about? Of course i've seen movies for the title. theres choices all around you....but they are live or die consequences if you really think about it. I haven't watched every movie because a game like this cannot last very long.
