Wii's peak last year was ~1.775 million which was just marginally below PS2's peak which was  over 1.79 million.

Assuming no adjustments are made this would make this week the Wii's biggest ever.

And the ps3 has already used its get out of jail for free card far earlier than they had hoped this gen (PS3 slim) due to the 360's great numbers last year.

It is yet to hit $199, or even $250... And it's touching 1 Million sales in a week.

Im sure Sony have a few more "get out of jail for free card"'s up those sleeves.

Im sure they do, but the slim was usually used to keep sales plugging along long in to the lifespan of the ps2, its been used much earlier this gen due to sony playing catch up, and with expensive devices inside the ps3 i don't forsee anymore price cuts anytime soon.

360 on the other hand can drop the price almost at will.

360 to take hardware sales over PS3 in 2010.

Where have Sony called the new PS3 the "Slim"? Hint - They haven't.

Sony could quite easily slim down the PS3 again, along with plenty more pricecuts to prolong the life of the console.

No it can't. MS want to make profit on it, and board members wont be happy with constant cuts to the machine. Plus, a cut before Natal releases would be dumb... And wont happen.

Sony expected people to buy the PS3 @ £425/$600, their arrogance cost them dear, the ps3 has already lost them lots of money, another re-desingn so soon would show just exactly how hard times have become.

I applaud recent ps3 sales, but the 360's still hanging in there with no official price cut in a long time.

Microsoft were very quiet on both the hardware and software advertising fronts last year, with Halo: Reach and many other stellar games coming throughout this year expect another microsoft marketing blitz that will easily rival if not surpass HALO 3's advertising blitz.

I noticed that QVC has been running hour long shows several times a day selling the Wii.



Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.

not only that, they are tons of deals to get the arcade even cheaper.

Not soon... 2 Years, maybe 3? To align with a $199 pricepoint, it would do wonders. As for the "fall for it" thing, DS, DS Lite, DSi... PSP, PSP 2000, PSP 3000, PSP Go.. Etc. Redesigns will always work, if advertised/priced well.

Oh, and we are still yet to see colours for PS3... Which is highly likely now that we have the matte finish. Maybe colours will come along with a $50 cut next year?

Yes it is. No official pricecuts for a year and its sales are UP YoY this week... Very impressive.

By last year i take it you mean 2009? Yes? If so, i agree. Although still every other advert i see on TV is 360 related. Oh, as for 2010... MS aint the only guys with the big games releasing next year
