Look at my collection.  I just bought 5 Xbox 360 games YESTERDAY.  I keep my 360 on an entertainment center and in a well ventilated area.  I install every game I intend to play on the HDD to save wear and tear on the system.  My 360 RRoD'd on me twice AND the disc drive died.  I didn't let it deter me.  I still sang Microsoft's praises.  I didn't hesitate to buy a 2nd brand new 360 in January of last year.  Now, my disc drive is dead again.  $400 for my first 360.  $300 for my second.  I STILL can't play my 360 games?  What more do you want from me, Microsoft?

Fuck it.  I give up.

EDIT: I have to remove and re-insert a disc 10 or twenty times, but eventually my 360 WILL play disc based games.  I know it's just a matter of time before it craps out, though.

Bad luck

"Men's fortunes are on a wheel, which in its turning suffers not the same man to prosper for ever."

"People of Thebes, my countrymen, look on Oedipus. He solved the famous riddle with his brilliance, he rose to power, a man beyond all power. Who could behold his greatness without envy? Now what a black sea of terror has overwhelmed him. Now as we keep our watch and wait the final day, count no man happy till he dies, free of pain at last."

If it's from January, isn't there warranty on it?

Tough luck, man.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Sorry to hear that d21. If you don't want to spend any more money on it perhaps you should look up fixes on the internet to see if there's anything you can try. And it means you get to play with electronics which is always fun.

...

Sorry to hear that man.

So is it still under warranty? If you have the receipt and bought it last January it still is...

If not there are alternative methods to fix this. You may need to seek out a place that mods xbox drives. A place like this for example in Toronto.... http://www.gmodz.ca/content.php?content_id=8

They replace the drive for 60 bucks, including the new drive and labor.

Also, depending on the symptoms...there are guides how to fix your drive yourself. Its quite easy in some cases. Don't give up yet I suggest but grab that screwdriver instead :)

What is wrong with your disc drive?

bad luck,get an arcade?

or a 100$ 9800gt nvidia card.... mass effect and splinter cell are gonna be cheaper on pc anyway...
