Seeing as how NSMBWii is still about a million less than MW2 (X360), no, its not safe to say he's already won.

However, he probably will have by the end of January.

I think the real question is:

How much will MW2 on 360 outsell NSMBWii after the release of NPD in Jan...

now it's a little over 2 million, will it be close to 1 mil? or 1.5 mil?

If the bet was clear cut it might be interesting. Problem is if you put 4 people in a room, they will have 5 opinions on what the bet was about (often, though not always, depending on their console "alliance"), and this has been discussed and argued to death - and beyond...

Some say it is US only because NPD was mentioned , some say it's worldwide. Some say it's any single console (because he didn't mention any single console initially), some say it's the 360 (because the interviewer then added, after Reggie's initial statement, the 360 and Reggie accepted that). This has all been argued to death and people seem to be rather entrenched each in their own view.

I couldn't care less about what comes outta Reggie's mouth. What I will find interesting though is the fact that Wii has almost twice the install base the 360 has and NSMBW has taken so long to outsell it. I can almost guarantee if 360 had about 60million HW sold like the Wii, MW2 would either beat out EASILY or tied NSMBW LTD. Sure it's frontloaded sales but has still managed to sell well for an FPS that has a specific hardcore market vs a fun platformer that aims at just about EVERY market. This coming from a PS3 fan.

The terms of the bet are so damn confused that I think everybody should just forget it entirely.
