Lol.....I'm sure many will hold you to that, as you will likely be proven wrong. Wasn't this same thing said of Uncharted 2? Yea, we saw how that turned out.

Refresh my memory, how did Heavenly Sword, Warhawk, R&C Future, Uncharted 1, Resistance 2, LittleBig Planet, Killzone 2 and inFamous "turn out"?

If anything, Uncharted 2 benefitted from the slim relaunch/momentum more than inherently pushing hardware itself.  And given the middling NPD figures, I'd say even that's questionable for America.

We can surf through every excuse in the book. Doesn't change the fact that he said God of War III won't move "any" PS3 sales. What those other games were said to do/did is quite irrelevant. The majority of those titles I wasn't here to hear what they were "supposed" to do, but I don't see what relevance that has, at all.

And if Uncharted 2 benefited from the price/Slim/momentum, why wouldn't God of War? God of War is bigger franchise than Uncharted and the first for the series on PS3. Are you saying God of War won't move "any" PS3s?

Well, I don't disagree with "any".  Hell, even Lair probably moved at least one PS3.

I'm saying GOW3 won't move significant numbers of PS3 hardware.  I think the game itself will do okay though, and easily outsell it's predecessor (GOW2).  Just like Uncharted 2 pretty much.

Also, I wasn't here for Uncharted 2's expectations, so you can count that game as equally "irrelevant" I guess. ;)

God of War Chains of Olympus would like to say hi!

What, the worst selling game in the series?  The game who's developer abandoned the platform after finishing it?  That GOW Chains of Olympus?

It moved hardware even if it's the worst selling game in the series.

Well, it moved with hardware.  Sony has a habit of "bundling to success". ;)

That was in summer of June 2008. It moved hardware in March, April, and May.

Well, Microsoft and Nintendo have done this/do that as well. I don't personally see the big deal about bundles in the first place. They're designed to offer more, hardly anything bad.

Microsoft certainly, Nintendo tends to bundle games that would move insane units on their own though.

Eh, no check again.  American PSP hardware sales were pretty much flat through the first half of 2008, despite GOW and Crisis Core in March.

Wii Sports still would've moved 10m+ standalone.  Hell, it moved 3.5m in Japan alone.

Yet it is still the best selling game of all time.

i voted 2nd because i think its quite unlikely that the 360 gets the momentum it had in Europe in 2008 back. I could easily see 360 outselling PS3 in the US for the rest of the gen though. I'm thinking PS3 passes 360 sometime mid-late 2011. I dunno what we consider end of this gen but it might be around that time. Microsoft couuld have cards that i don't know about, and Natal could be big so 2nd or 3rd is quite possible.
The 81 people still saying 1st place are completely delusional.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

We can expect new gen consoles somewhere in 2012 or later.
If in 2012, then only 3 years left for sales, maybe 4.

I wonder, how much 249$(2010-2011) or 199$(2011-2012) PS3 is better value, than Wii for same price today.
While 149$ Wii is also a serious competitor. Though, not sure if 50$ is enough difference from 199$ Wii.

I think Wii might sell another 45 mln. in next 3 years. The question, how many will PS3 sell. I think, not more than 60 mln. in next 3 years. Depends on how popular will be PS3 at 249$ in 2011 and at 199$ in 2012.
