ps2 defined gaming in last decade not the 360. it was a console for everyone so the winner is ps2.

I'm still stunned that some are arguing for the PS2 OR the 30, really. They're both continuations of old values that are quickly being overshadowed.

@FKNetwork (you should read this too, Legend11): Then how come the 360 isn't selling at the same rate the PS2 did, if you're seriously going to laugh at people thinking the PS2 had a bigger impact? Nobody's denying the 360 had a huge impact on the industry, but there's nothing to laugh at if people think the PS2 had a bigger impact. The 360 is struggling against the PS3 when they're the same price (hell, there's a cheaper model). And if you look at the sales from launch, you'll see the PS3 is selling faster than the Xbox 360.

Now, the Wii, on the other hand, look how far ahead it is. That's a decade defining console.

The sales speak for themselves.

Also, IMHO, mainstream gaming isn't a good thing, but that's another issue.

thats a jibberish list you have put out, 720p 1080p gaming lol 360 didnt even have hdmi for 1st 2 years, the console also spat out a defunt hddvd addon not to mention the hardware probs, it broght some good aditions but didnt define last 10 years,

Since when do sales "define" anything?, defining a generation is NOT about sales of a console, it is about what that console bought to the gaming world, what innovations/new features did they bring with them? what inpact did they have etc? this is what this topic is about, not sales....

If it was about sales then yeah, ps2 and wii would be the top two but it isn't about sales lol, it clearly stated this in the article too, wilkapedia also explains what "defining" means if your not sure....

The 360 has ALWAYS had 720P and 1080P output, before HDMI was standard on the 360 the HD component cables were used, it still displayed the same outputs lol.
