Quoting myself from another topic:

I for one am REALLY REALLY happy with the MW2 numbers. Serves those idiots at Activision right. I certainly hope it got pirated more than it sold on the PC.

Before anyone says "ZOMG PC PIRACY!!111eleven" notice that all top 5 of the games on the PC sucked the big one hard, except maybe the Sims, which probably sold more than Thriller....

I just don't get this philosophy, are all your brains hurting?

If you are against the product, you could be happy that it doesn't sell well.

Why are you happy that it has been pirated?

Do you want every politician you don't want to vote to be shot or do you just don't give him your vote?

@BladeofGod

MW2 was utter shit. It was basically a direct console port with nothing else for the PC, in other words shit, it deserved to be pirated hell of a lot more than it already has and sold many many millions less.

So a console port is not good enough for PC gamers? They want MW2 PC version to be better than console versions, but they're still gonna pirate the crap out of it as usual?

Typicall PC gamer arrogance

It's not arrogance, the PC gamer expectations just aren't so low any shitty game can be passed off as good. It's a problem with the console gamers, not the PC gamers.

If he game had been solf for the amount of money i was worth, $10-$15, then I bet there would have been a lot less pirated copies.

Oh is that so?

Well than, i hope developers can focus more of their ''shitty'' console ports and give us, console gamers, more of their ''shitty'' games and forget about making any games for PC.

Don't worry devs will be making those "shitty" Wii games next generation and won't give a damn about you either.

Yes, because Modern Warfare, Resident Evil, Call Of Duty ( 3 and WaW ) and others sold sooooo much better on Wii than on PS360, oh wait...

Why should they bother spending soooo much money making those, when they can spend 1/4 of that money, make a Wii XXX game or something like NSMBW, and sell far far more than any of the ones you listed. By your logic, they shouldn't even bother. I didn't say they will stop making ports, I said that they will jsut stop making those games altogether because the HD games make shit money compared to Wii games. I'm sure the Olympic games sold more than most of your HD games too.

Hmmmm, i dont know... MW2 made nearly 500 000 000 profit on its launch. Halo 3, GTA IV, Gears 2, MGS4, LBP, ( and GT5 most likely ) made great profits. And tell me the name of 1 3rd party game that sold over 5 million on wii besides Mario and Sonic at the olympic games.

Those wii games that sold more than HD games are made by nintendo, not by 3rd party devs

yep third party efforts has been very successfull this year on the Wii, that is why they are all increasing those efforts next year.....

Same shit with the PC. If they make games which aren't good or that no one wants, what do they expect? Also third party shitty games sell a lot on the Wii. I didn't say make hardcore Wii games, I said make casual Wii games. They will most definitely make tons more money than spending it on HD games, especially with the costs nowadays, that's for sure.

To me there is no hardcore or casual, just games. However there are simpler games and more complex games. For me complex and simple games are the most fun. The HD console games are half-assed simple and half-assed complex, hence generally very mediocre.

Is that why Uncharted 2 has beaten every Wii and PC game this year?

Well you have to realzie that the PC doesn't handle Platforming as well as console. But going back to my previous post, why should anyone bother making Uncharted 2 when Platforming games on the Wii annihilate it in sales?

Also I don't knwo if you noticed, but developers DID stop developing for the PC. Since the expectatoins for games are so high most shitty developers just started releasing on consoles instead, leaving the generally good developers behind, like Blizzard, Valve, Creative Assembly, etc.

Comparing a Mario game with new IP in this gen is a little unfair, dont you think? Also, Uncharted 2 is not a platformer

No it really isn't, but it makes more money, period. Isn't what all this is about? What makes people more money? If that's the case and I can kiss good PC games good-bye, you can probably kiss your HD console games good-bye as well. Luckily, as I stated, the best of the best developeers are still making PC games so I'm cool with that.

Also UC2 has pretty decent platforming elemens, something the PC doesn't handle well with the KBD unless you plugged in an analog stick. However the quality of Uncharted 2 should have been the quality of UC1 and UC2 shouldn't have existed until next gen, I don't believe in sequels every year or two.

L4D2........

I'm not too happy about it. Thankfully it was down to $30 bucks almost a week after it came out so that I paid a normal Expansion Pack price for it.

Edit: L4D2 shows you exactly how bad console consumers are. They are willing to shell out 60 bucks for a game sequel that comes out a year later than the original. As for the PC gamers, where's HL2: Ep. 3? What about even Half-Life 3? Starcraft took 10 years to get a sequel. Team Fortress? Everquest? What about Total War? You get the point.

See now you are contradicting yourself. You are telling me that HD consoles make much bigger profits than PC games. Yet tell me that I can't tell you that Wii games make much bigger profits than HD games. Also last i chekced "Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games" is 3rd party and has sold exceptoinally well. Also it probably had 1/10th, and most prbably even less than MW2's $200 million cost. So tell me, wy should developers make MW3 instead of something like Mario and Sonic?

I guess you didn't understand me. I'm well aware it's an action adventure game. However it would handle very poorly with a KBD, just like Tomb Raider.

''So tell me, why should developers make MW3 instead of something like Mario and Sonic?''

Maybe because Mario and Sonic are owned Nintendo and SEGA, the 2 out of 5 companies that make profit on wii software

L4D2........

still don't have L4D2, so turned off by the fact that L4D2 should have been a completed L4D....... that and it was only fun for the first 3 months for me, then I went back to TF2.
