Hey guys,

I made a poll about the PSP Go. I just checked Media Create numbers for the week ending 12/20/09.

PlayStation3 237.086 75.086 1.654.013
Wii 191.915 135.898 1.747.238
Nintendo DSi 95.227 68.184 2.835.069
PSP 79.194 71.885 2.070.518
NDSi LL 75.241 58.006 354.834
Nintendo DS Lite 12.879 11.376 508.329
Xbox 360 8.965 10.646 363.014
PSP go 3.260 3.077 64.400
PlayStation2 2.982 2.463 195.666

the PSP Go sold 3.2k units and 64.4k since launch. In comparison, the original PSP sold 79k this week and 2 million this year. The DS sold 170k this week (all models).

So, dou you think the PSP Go is a failure?

I don't think Sony expected this do be so bad.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Sony said sales were above expectations. Still, I agree they look low. Now it's a premium product, it's not aimed at the masses and it was never supposed to sell millions.

No, I think that Sony is going to be able to decrease the price of the PSP go in 2010, as they've started to make more of these, they will have a die shrink to the 32nm then, so we may be able to get another $50 off.  I also think that since some reports say that sony will offer online storage , w/ the premium account thing, this will make more people want to use the PSPgo since it wont be limited by a physical storage, for some people.

As it stands right now? Yes.

It just isn't selling that much, simple as that.
Sony had to have hoped for a better start, but, when you launch the PSP go at its current price point...
It's just tough to figure out what Sony was thinking.

'What Sony was thinking' ? Well, it's a premium product aimed at showcasing inovation.

They aimed at improving their brand image, which they did. I love my PSP Go.

This product will in turn help selling other Sony products. That's the way it works.

Yes. Anybody that bought that thing has completely wasted $250. I don't know what else to say. It was expected to be a failure, and it was. They need to drop the price immediately, or just discontinue it. As soon as I heard about it, I knew it was going to fail, and I was right.
It should never have been released in the first place. What was sony thinking?

What we need now is a PSP:Go Slim :)

Oh and the price cut!

I don't understand all this hate. I love my PSP Go, it's sexy, it's portable, the screen is great, you don't need any stupid UMD disks...

Sure, it's expansive, I guess that's why people hate it so much, they can't buy one.

And of course it helps brand image, it's a beautiful piece of technology, it shows Sony can make small and beautiful products.

Sony needs too quit being dumb and Drop the Go's price to $180-$200 , i would buy one immediately , and i know A ton of people who would do just the same. i Bet sales would Jump 500+% and they would sell more Go's in ten days then they did from Sept-Jan

Atto Suggests...:

Book - Malazan Book of the Fallen series

Game - Metro Last Light

TV - Deadwood

Music - Forest Swords

Sony were expecting GT PSP will move alot of numbers, but it didn't , it needs a price cut.... a huuuuuuuuuggggge one.
