If the next Xbox releases with Halo 4 on launch, that is my first purchase.
If the next Xbox releases with Halo 4 on launch, that is my first purchase.
the one with the best multimedia capabilities, only because im 19 now, i will be about 22 when they come and gaming wont be as important, im using my PS3 as a ballance between playing and watching right now....
ill buy the next nintendo system as close to launch as possible.
the next ninty console/handheld
and later years maybe a playstation 4......
Handhelds probably, just like this gen... Il probably end up at the end of the gen to buy one ore more home consoles to, but from day 1, its the same for me
Vote the Mayor for Mayor!
Next gen, I will be buying the next nintendo system on launch day. This is the first time ever that I'm planning on buying a system on launch day.
I will wait to buy the next playstation, after a couple price drops. I never bought an xbox and don't plan on getting one ever.
I'm done will handhelds. I always buy the nintendo handhelds, but I buy a few games, play it for a few months, then I don't touch it again. So I've decided to stay away from handhelds from now on.
I will get the next Xbox first day. I am very sure it will be quite powerful and it will have Fable, Halo and probably Gears of War on it.
I bought the Xbox 360 day one and I never regret it. It offers the best online experience and the best 3rd party support this gen. I think that are 2 main points MS will be focused on next gen as well.
Imagine not having GamePass on your console...
The next Nintendo console on day one. Their next handheld i might hold off a short bit on, their handhelds tend to start out slower in terms of launch-era games.
Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

What is so funny about that? Both of those consoles offer more interesting games than their counterparts of the same gen. |
Hmm let me see, Xbox: Halo, no thank you I preferred Red Faction 2. Fable 1, was a bit short but they definitely got the right idea. I preferred KOTOR and Advent Rising on that system, that's it.
PS2: Valkyrie Profile 2, Jak 3, GT4, DMC3 (considered the best DMC in the whole series), Silent Hill 2, RE4, KH1 and 2, God of War 1 and 2, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3. And that's barely the tip of the iceberg. M$ made the same mistake Sony made at the beginning of this gen. They brought in a powerful piece of hardware and thought it was enough to win. Xbox had better graphics engine and processing power hands down, but nowhere near the quality games the PS2 had. Why do you think M$ threw so much money around to take away Sony's exclusives this gen? Because they knew that if they let Sony walk away with GTA4, FFXIII, etc, it would kill them.
Xbox360 brought Gears of War which was a breath of fresh air as well as ME and Forza 3 and secured (temporarily in some cases) several JRPG's but most ended up being mediocre Demand for the 360 is dropping at a fast rate. Previous gen Xbox was being crushed by the PS2 and getting outdone by PS2's AAA lineup, and even the Gamecube was pumping out more appealing titles.
Wii with its "gimmick" ended up winning alot of the casual market but did it have the games to compete with the 360 and PS3? Yes, despite vast graphical inferiority, Nintendo understood that gameplay>shiny graphics. Okami, Zelda: TP, SSBB, RE4 (that game with motion control is an amazing experience, this coming from a diehard PS2 fan that owned the game on the PS2), Muramasa Demon Blade, No More Heroes (so good that 360 and PS3 wanted it and are getting it).
PS3 started out slow but little by little kept bringing in great game after great game: MGS4 (360 has wet dreams about getting that game but have to settle with Rising), LBP, Resistance 1 and 2,Uncharted 1, then started picking up KZ2, Valkyria Chronicles, Uncharted 2, Demon's Souls, InFamous, Ratchet and Clank, etc.
This gen the Wii was a smart move and the results have been shown. The 360 with a full year advantage and a lower pricepoint is barely holding on now at only about 5.7 million WW (that year advantage saved the 360). 360 had no hope in Japan and now it has been overtaken by the PS3 in Others. Sadly the race for second place is far from over. The Wii won with intelligence, not power. As much of a fan of Sony as i have been I wouldn't make the comment that it's the best console of the gen as a statement, of fact. To ME, I prefer the PS3 with all its offerings but that doesn't stop me from borrowing a Wii or 360 from a friend (or sleeping over) to play some of the great offerings the systems have, but as it stands the Wii is the top of this generation and that is fact, hence why I "Rofl" 'ed, especially as the PS2 was the best system of the previous gen and DESTROYED the Xbox which was forced to pull the plug on the system after only 4 years, while the PS2 STILL sells as a testament of its true greatness, which also shows Sony's commitment to its 10 year plan. The same cannot be said about M$ and the dedication or lack of to their consumers.
I'm going to hold off for at least a year come next gen. I want to see the new movement of user interaction pan out for the three companies. How will Sony Gem, MS Natal and Nintendo Xtra pan out.
I'm not sold on Gem since The Wiiremote even with MP isn't really doing a whole lot. I don't feel that Natal will offer anything significant in regards to game play. Developers have been really resistant to different controls. As for Nintendo. Will just have no idea if their next feature will be worth it.I new this Gen it would be, but next i'm no so sure.
