Most of those "million" deaths were caused BY the terrorists, NOT american soldiers. So yea, try again.

Terrorism is a horrible and despicable act, but one has to ask themselves why does a person resort to terrorism in the first place? It's not a random decision that someone makes when they get out of bed. "Oh, I'm going to blow up a plane today with no motive".

People in Iraq currently view USA and UK as terrorists because we go over and shell the shit out of their country. So some of their people fight back, and it leads to terrorist acts. Clearly annihilating them would never work as you would just piss more people off and subsequently more will become terrorists. And you would never beat them because they resort to guerilla warfare.

I'm not going to pretend that I know what the solution is to stop terrorism on western countries, because I don't. But I do think that shelling their homes just pisses them off more than anything, it's not a solution.

For an analogy. It's like going up to a sleeping lion and hitting it with a stick, it was unlikely to attack you before, but because you hit it with a stick now it's almost certain to attack.

It's a tricky situation.

Also, I don't know who told you that Osama Bin Laden started terrorism, but that is a plain lie. It's existed for thousands of years.

WTF is wrong with these people?

These people are the most delusioned and dangerous people and they pose a serious threat ot the world's safety. I dont understand why these people feel the need to visit New Zealand, they are pissing me off. They are cowards who have made travelling by plane is impossible. We need a bar on every plane to ensure safety I think that would help.

On christmas day some crazy extremist from Nigeria tries to visit a pub in my home city on Christmas day, these people will never let us rest. New Zealand can never let their guard down or we will have a repeat of any day of the year and that must never happen. I blame lonely planet, they started it all and I hope they destroy the symbol of tourism.

Tourism needs to be stopped!

OT: yeah terrorism is not exactly a good thing,i get so annoyed at this metnality:oh well they are the enemy so its alright to go and have cowardly suicide attacks on them....seriously i can begin to see Richard Dawkins point of how religon is so bad for people,you have young kids brainwshed into htinking all jews/muslims/christians are evil and must be killed...having said all this,i odnt htink terrorism is as bad a people make out ,as in im suprosed there wernt a crapload more oh attacks on builidngs/infastructures etc...

How many planes do you think have been hijacked and crashed due to terrorist intervention since September 11th? I checked, the answer is none (source). You could argue more could have potentially been hijacked, but the plans were foiled, despite this the answer is still none. But in that time millions upon millions of planes have made journeys.

The chances of you getting on a plane that has been hijacked by terrorists is insignificant, like a one in a billion chance. I would almost go as far to say that you would be far more likely to have your car stolen on the journey to the Airport, than you are to get on a hijacked plane.

As for terrorism... it's like other crime.  Sucks... but it's something you have to live with.

Ignoring the fact that before Bush messed up the invasion most Iraqi's were in support of an invasion taking Saddam out of power.  In fact the US took a hit in popularity in Iraq in Desert Storm for not finishing the war with an invasion of Iraq.

Americans entered Iraq and Afghanistan after numerous attacks including 9/11 on US and UK, the aim is to make these countries safer by attacking the terrorists on their own turf. Terrorist attacks have fallen greatly and the losses have been on a small scale to the 1,500 killed in one instant in the 9/11 attacks.

Also their is not alot America or Britain can do to stop these terrorists entering the country. Sure the majority arn't of European origin but a large amount of them have been in this country for generations and have contained their views for a large amount of time.

Some people would argue that the British and American's were the terrorists for invading IRAQ/AFGHAN but i think its comparitive to Israel/Gaza conflict. Hamas attacked Israel so Israel hit them alot harder. Some may say it was an act in self defence. 1,400 Palistinans were killed and 13 Israel's perished.
