nah manga is just way cooler for me. I'm just a sucker for sports related manga

I used to read FMA, but I kind of have a problem with it. I absolutely LOVED the anime, and usually, when the anime and manga are different even just a little (or in this case, completely different storylines), I usually prefer the manga. This isn't the case for FMA so I had trouble keeping up with it. I plan to tackle it again once I can get over the predisposition where I'm convinced it can't be as good as the anime. It seems very good though, but for some reason, it just nags at me.

So then why not just watch FMA Brotherhood? It follows the storyline of the manga.

I don't watch anime anymore, no time. And that doesn't really solve the issue at hand at all -.-

@kopstudent89, I assume you read Adachi Mitsuru stuff then? Cross Game, Rough, Touch, H2, etc. When it comes to sports manga, he's my favorite. Eyeshield 21 was pretty fun too.

Hajime no Ippo is pretty good, I've read it 2 times so far. The first time when about 500 chapters were out, and followed it for about 75 chapters, and recently at about 730 and I've been keeping up with it. I want the story to progress a little faster, but it's a fun read. Doesn't make my top 10 though, even if I keep up with it very well.

On another note, I've read One Piece 5 or 6 times (watched most of the anime, but I'm about 100 eps behind now), Hunter X Hunter 4 times (and watched the anime 3 times), Id about 7-8 times, Ubel Blatt 3-4 times, and 1/2 Prince twice. I love re-reading the manga I really enjoy. It beats reading like 5 other mediocre series that aren't entertaining.

It helps to have a LOT of free time at work to just read manga. I can easily get through about 100 chapters a day. Considering I only keep up (on a regular basis) with maybe 20-30 different series, that's another 470ish chapters I can get through of various stuff. Some chapters take longer obviously, but I'm talking about the normal 20-25 page chapters.

@ r505Matt

You can read 100 manga chapters per day and while at work? What kinda job do you have? Even when I'm at home all day I can only read at most, 25 to 30 chapters in one day.

I can read CRAZY fast. A chapter of Naruto takes me a little under 2 minutes to read. I work in an office and can pretty much get away with anything short of murder because, when I do work, I'm about 8 times faster than everyone else that works there -.-

After reading manga so much, I've become 'good' at reading manga. I can visual/process the pictures extremely quickly, I have semi-photographic memory in that regard. I can do this sort of 'skim-reading' where I gloss over the words, and let my brain process them faster than my vision. I can't do it for something like Death Note, but for light reads, it's pretty easy for me to rush through it and get the same experience as if I took my time, only faster.

It's important to note that I only read things I moderately enjoy (or don't enjoy like was the case with Bleach for the past 2ish years). I take a little bit longer on One Piece and HxH and such even if I don't have to.

I don't believe faster reading is better reading per se, but I like being able to go through a TON of chapters.

wow :P

Wow, thought I was the only one who could read manga execeptionally fast. I can finish a whole volume under 30 minutes.

"Life is but a gentle death. Fate is but a sickness that results in extinction and in the midst of all the uncertainty, lies resolve."

I've read waaay to much manga in my life. Ever since I was really young. I'll read pretty much anything that has to do with fantasy or science fiction, doesn't matter if it's shojo, shonen, seinen, manhwa, whatever. xD

Currently own: PC (duh), SNES, Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, PS1, PS2, PS3, PSP.

I can't list everything I've read haha, at least not so easily. It would take me a WHILE to compile such a list, you should've made it alphabetical, that's too much to look through =P

Okay, so I actually skimmed through it.

Red River, Basara, and Houshin Engi are pretty good. You have a lot of stuff in there I've never heard of, though I'm sure I've read more than I think, and may have either not liked it, or forgotten about it. I'm almost curious to make my own list, but it would take days of time to do haha. I'd have to pretty much check/re-read manga to see if I remember it at all -.-

Yooo, new HSD Kenichi is good, they're finally gonna explain who the guy in the suit is (he was in the tournament a while back). Haha does anyone else read HSD? 368 chapters of awesome (it's my number 7).
