(Another) $100 price cuts (while Sony's games division loses 100's of millions each quarter) do tend to increase console sales, yes.

Anyways imo, it's more amazing that it's 1 week from 2010 and we are still talking about a 5 million gap..PS3 will never catch up. 2010, will start out with slow sales so PS3 wont gain much if at all...then MS has games like Mass Effect 2, Alan Wake, Splinter Cell Conviction, Crackdown 2  "one triple A exclusive a month" as Greenberg says. Then the back half of the year will be exceedingly strong for 360 with possible price cuts and slim design, plus Natal, Fable 3 and Halo Reach (that we know of).

Haha!

I realize thats your opinion, and thats cool, however its very narrow minded since you exclude the fact PS3 has a list Equal to that of the 360's for next year, which is a purposely yet uncalled for remark on your part, however your new here as it seems, so i'll look passed that one.

But that "PS3 will never catch up" comment was VERY uncalled for, what the fuck is your issue man? ever heard the old sane' "NEVER say ... NEVER" with anything, and we all know th PlayStation brand is a Strong one, and to just disregard it with such ease like that is just not logical or open at all, be reasonable man, its not that difficult at all.

Nice, Maybe my prediction may come true lol

You mean this one? ... "PS3 Will Be Anywhere Between 32-35M By Jan 31 2010." ? ? ?

If so... then it WILL happen, no doubt about it, my best guess would be somewhere around 33M in total by Jan's ending, and will rise again when tax return comes rolling around by another 800k or so since feb is gonna be JRPG heaven for ps3.

That is really unlikely since everyone's wallets will be exhausted from Christmas shopping. All console sales will drop considerable at this time.

Did the last Mass Effect, Splinter Cell, and Crackdown light the charts on fire or significantly boost 360 sales? Does the PS3 not have GoW3 for America, GT5 in Japan, and a slew of other exclusive coming in just the first 3 or 4 months of the year?

I mean really....do you think that new IP, under everyone's radar Alan Wake is going to boost 360 sales and at the same time you're going to ignore GoW3, which if you've been paying attention, is #1 on the preorder charts?

I know people like to do list wars, and make it seem that "since my console has exclusive A,B, and C, that means that your console's exclusives all of a sudden don't matter"....but that's just ridiculous

Ugh, really wish PS3 would just pass 360 already and take its prized position of 2nd place so I can stop hearing about it...

It won't happen.  Every time it looks like Sony is about to catch up (eg. shamelessly copying Xbox Live's features) Microsoft does something to separate them again.  Next year it will be Halo Reach and Natal's launch which will be flooded with advertising dollars.  The sales differences we're seeing now that are making some Sony fanboys puff out their chests in pride will look laughable when Natal launches and the 360 starts outselling the PS3 by such margins that even the blindest fanboys will see that the race is over.

Even at 'only' 5 million ahead, that's still a comfortable cushion for next year.

and the ps3 has no games coming out in the next couple of months?

Yeah... and I thought that "teh PS3 haz no gaaamez" was something of the past, and those statements were similar.

No offense, sharky974, but you just posted the (almost) entire XBox360 line up for the year 2010 as if the PS3 has nothing to offer the next year.
