Diablo?

Somehow this thread just got even more ridiculous than it was to begin with.

Well it was set to get even more ridiculous when someone says that Bayonetta, GoW and DMC are all rip-offs of Diablo.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Why not...we've been hearing people whine about how DI is a ripoff...just don't buy the game, and give our ears a rest.

I have tried to argue how both God of War and Dante's Inferno are like Devil May Cry, and wasn't quite as successful.  But, at least I hope I am in the ballpark.  For you trying to say all the games are ripoffs of Diablo is SERIOUSLY absurd.  You don't end up refuting an argument you consider absurd by being as equally absurd.  You particularly don't do it when you use two different game genres and consider them the same thing.  Well, I guess MAYBE you get God of War and Dante's Inferno to be like Diablo, through the game Too Human.  However, if you have to do that, you are punishing those who you are trying to persuade.

Yup, you're correct.

ok...why would anyone say that dmc, gow and bay are a rip off of diablo?

and why would anyone say that GOWs gameplay is better and more indepth then dmc and bay?
thats just wrong

how i see it

GOW and DI are very similar. you can tell that DI has alot of influence from GOW but sadly GOW seems better from what i've seen.

DMC and Bay are very similar. them both being created from the same developer say alot but its really not funny when Bay seems like a copy of dmc3 (FYI the creater of Bay did not direct or be apart of dmc3 and to most its the best of the series)

GOW and DI will have the full package making them great games
but
dmc and Bay will have hardcore indepth gameplay suited for more of the hardcore action gamers (which includes me :D) But...going to rent Bay as i hate the whole concept of the game (its terrible) but since its almost a dmc copy i'm going to have to play it! like come on she has a Stinger!

My favorite words I've read on the Demo, from Gabe of Penny Arcade:

"In other news, did any of you guys grab the Dante's Inferno demo? It's like they took the Divine Comedy and turned it into a seventh grader's wet dream. Tycho and I were laughing during most of the cut scenes. When Dante is sewing the cross into his skin we couldn't figure out if it was supposed to be funny, or if if they were actually serious about this crap.

LMAO! I was puzzled by that cutscene as well. I'm probably rent DI for the lols.

...and why is that sad? Or, for who is that sad?

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

lol, i have something to say about that

Diablo III is GOW rip-off xD (kidding)

In an interview in Electronic Gaming Monthly Magazine - Issue 232 (09-2008), "Rob Pardo" Blizzard executive & vice president of game design

said " We kind toke cues from God of War and games like that. We are really trying to ratchet up the visceral feel og the game to an 11 out of 10 point scale"

*From the article*:

The developers aim to combine God of War's epic wides-screen scale Bosses with the intelligent design that require skillful abilities

ties over brute force like the Bosses found in Zelda games

The Barbarian class is the kind of character you will play if you want to drop someone extremely vicious- like say God of War

protagonist "Kratos" in the Diablo universe.

Its really a long and nice interview, that will make you even more hyped for Diablo III
