2010 is going to be bigger than 2009.

With all the respect i have for Retro, i don't see how someone from that company could know everything about ALL the Wii games actually in the pipeline at early stages: the only informations they could have is about the future 1st party line-up, and even then, i'm not sure the guys in Kyoto will let everyone in the company know about what's coming...
And if we talk about 3rd parties, nobody knows: many games for late 2010 and 2011 may still have to be announced, and the 2006-2009 success may finally create a will to give Wii the quality games it deserves... at least, there's still a chance amongst a few "creative" 3rd parties...
And even if it's still not the case, it only takes 10 to 20 great games a year to create a very decent Wii line-up (no need to have 50 or more, even if it's always better, of course): we're used to that situation, and i really don't see why it won't at least happen in 2011 as well...
Unless Nintendo has a new home console ready, and 2011 is already the last "regular Wii" year... then it would make sense to already focus on the next wave of games for that next console, two years before it's on the market... and that is something Retro could know, to the opposite of the argument evoked here...

Nintendo could u please just take my money and give me back my 3DS?!
Where did it even say he was talking about Nintendo? Seemed to me more like he was commenting on the state of the industry.
Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.
Sounds like PR stuff to me. "2011 will suck, don't wait for then, buy our 2010 games."
And then if his studio has anything releasing in 2011, this time next year will be the same speech.

And...why? Like every project under the Armor Project/Dragon Quest label, they will finish it when it needs to be finished. And the last game (Dragon Quest IX) took almost 5 years (which is almost unheard of for a handheld and DS title). That's as long as it took Nintendo to make Ocarina of Time...
Even if they started development of Dragon Quest X a year before it was announced...I still don't see it coming out anytime before 2012.
It has to be 2010. They'll have had over three years to work with minimal distraction by then (since there was Metroid Prime Trilogy, but we know that was a side-project for them, and not a focal point). MP3 was mostly done before it was released, too, it just had a good period of time to do some polishing through the second half of 2007, so they could have been doing early work on another project through most of 07, probably

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
