Recommend an old game for me.

Total:0

I am visiting my mother during holidays and because tv is always taken, I am forced to spend a lot of time with this 1,6ghz laptop with low level graphics chip.

So I am looking for some really good games of yesteryear. My favourite genres are strategy, fps and rpg. Any ideas for this computer? Should be available on some digital download service like steam.

I have played Half-life and deus ex too many times so even though those are great games, don't bother to recommend them anymore for me. ;)

!!! if someone knows where to get Master Of Orion 2 as digital download, PLEASE let me know !!!

Max Payne is a good one with an excellent story and narrative as well as the original half life.
plants vs zombies is a really good time waster and while its pretty new its graphics requirements shouldnt be too high (however it may lag when theres lots of stuff on the screen) its a pretty good time waster and very addicting.

thats all for now good luck :D

Since the shooters are taken Ill go with your rpg fix. Id look at direct to download for things like Baulders Gate 1/2, Planescape:torment, Neverwinter Nights 1 (think 2 might be a bit much), KOTOR 1/2 all If you like DnD rpgs of course :)  For unique RPGS, Id try out The Witcher (its awesome) tho it might run a bit rich for your laptop.

Baldurs gate! Thanks!

Just by looking at the steam store under 5 euro, you can find some great old strategy games. Best seller is currently full package of Civilization III, also Railroad Tycoon and Port Royale are there. In the under 10 euro category there are Total War games, which are one of my favourites (especially Rome). And the allmigthy Counter Strike as an multiplayer FPS god.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Civilization 3 from steam, that is a good idea. I can't believe I forgot system shock... but somehow I doubt that it is not available as DD.
