dude u need  stop being arrogant which i see in most of ur posts on this forum, i lurk a lot so i can see these things, ff13 will be the lowest selling ff since ff4, ppl in japan are hating it, go to neogaf and see how there are reports of mass returns of the game after only playing 10 hours of it. its being called the worst ff and has bad word of mouth, week 2 will be below 100k. we are only doin this to make your expectations come in line with reality, we dont hate the game man

You said "good luck with that" to the possibility of FFXIII reaching 2 mill in Japan. Thus it's entirely within your expectations for it to be the lowest selling FF since IV, so why the surprise when it's commented upon? This is a sales site after all, it would be a significant development.

That is stupid. Biggest can take a number of meanings, not just sales and revenue. Winning the Presidential campaign can only mean becoming President

Not necessarily. There are probably candidates who know they won't be president who "win" by progressing a platform. (Not the ultimate candidate from a major party though.)

OT: Great numbers and one of the most important launches for its respective players of the year.

And in a way I have to agree with the "system seller" thing on the surface. While FF XIII added maybe 150k new PS3s this week, the effect will be short-lived.

Yeah, I agree with this. It's unreasonable to expect an established franchise like FF to drive sales after its release, because nearly all the people it will sell systems to, will do so early (either on or before the week of release). Its system-selling power is tied to its small legs.

On the other hand, titles that sell well over time like the Wii series, or break out hits like MH will sell consoles over a long period of time. For example, it's possible the next MH (say, next gen) will see a pattern closer to FF.

the next monster hunte will be released on the psp :p

I think he talking about MH4.  Though I think MH4 will debut on Wii too, then get ported to PSP (or PSP2 by then?) later.

Next PSP MH is that Animal Crossing-ish feline spinoff.  After that we'll probably see MH3G Wii and MHP3 PSP.

It's a limited bundle, 200k bundle as rumored would be bigger than expected, it will not sell tons thanks to the bundle, it is more important for PS3 than for the game...Anyway this week NSMBW sold over 500k, so it's 400k over FFXIII yet, and considering ALL the FF's legs in the best case FFXIII 2nd week will not match NSMBW 4th week.

The 200k bundle rumor was supposedly bogus btw.  We don't have an exact figures, but the wizards at GAF figured it's closer to 100k and closer to sold out.

Yeah, it's quite obvious at this point that FFXIII will never touch NSMB Wii in sales. It'll need to sell something around 800k next week for that to happen.

Not that FFXIII wasn't a success, it did well. NSMB Wii is on a whole 'nother league, though - best selling home console game since the original Super Mario Bros, here we go!
