Forums - Gaming Discussion - I don't think most people realize yet how good Bayonetta is...

Well OP remember, GoWIII isn't released yet, they could very well innovate with the formula and give us something new and exciting. We can't say for sure how good GoWIII will be. You can't just assume it will be "God of War with better graphics."

I would align my prediction, that I personally will like Bayonetta better, but I've never been a big fan of GoW, and I highly doubt they will change up a popular formula just for the sake of us few gamers who like to have our sequels shake things up, but you never know, Kratos could get a lollypop after his first pitboss too, lol.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.

Demo was good and fun. But not must have.

Not sure what to make of "most stylish game ever made". Style is a matter of opinion. I wasn't wowed by the style so my opinion on stylishness is obviously different to yours. Given I played the demo on the PS3 the game is of a technically reasonable quality, but doesn't stand out from the crowd. Could be that its technical superiority on the 360 makes it vastly more impressive and it is that amazing on this system; I'm unlikely to ever find out.

There were also some niggly little annoying things about it that aren't about graphics quality or gameplay, and I guess that's something to do with style, which is why I don't rate the style as highly as some people obviously do.

I do wish it success though, because it is a fresh addition to the game world.

The 10 minute intro and 5 minutes of gamplay. This way you can judge the stylishness for yourself if you'd like... I agree that style is a matter fr opinion, but even if this isn't your thing...you got to give it A for effort.

If you plan on getting this game, I suggest not to watch this...spoilers gallore.

Very true. They are in the same subgenre, but to seperate them even more, there is actually a subgenre within the subgenre, between story based and event driven actioneers and combat centric boss rush stylistic action based games.

GoW and Dante's Inferno are very different from games like DMC and Ninja Gaiden, despite sharing a genre, so it really is a matter of taste, and a differing niche, however you can compare any two games if you try hard enough.

That said, any game that is its previous version with better graphics, deserves no praise, imho. Be it Bayonetta or God of War III. Let us hope both game strive to differentiate themselves from the games of which they were derived.

Can't watch the clip just yet, but I certainly agree on A for effort. I don't just download any old demo you know. A game has to intrigue me and look promising before I'll consider it demo worthy. I'll note that I downloaded this demo and I haven't downloaded quite a few demos for highly regarded games like Bioshock yet.

To be clear, I am more hyped for God of War III because I really like the style, substance and mythos of that series. But that doesn't mean I'm blind to the qualities of other games playing in the same sandbox. I also find the mythos of Dante's inferno more intriguing than bayonetta, though it seems the excecution may be of lesser quality.

I played both the ps3 and 360 demos and it was very original even with just that short bit. I am going 2 buy it day one for PS3 , its great to support new badass IP's. Oh, and I dont have a HDTV, but I have a decent TV and on that screen I saw no visual differances between the PS3 and 360 version. Just thought I'd mention.

I spent a long time on ign's new site looking for a review and was thinking "their new interface is horrible, I can't seem to find where they keep the review for the game."

Then I noticed it came out in 2010. Silly me. That being said, I don't see much promise in a game that so obviously is relying on sex appeal. I can't remember the last good game that relied on sex appeal for the main character.

Having something and relying on it are two different things my friend, and you should learn to differentiate.

It's just been my experience that games based off of movies or games with a female character with an obvious attempt at sex appeal aren't very good.  I won't dismiss the game outright, but it will take a really good recommendation for me to consider buying the game.

What about games that treat male characters as sex objects? Nobody seems to have a problem with Kratos walking around half naked the entire game. What about Street Fighter, Tekken, or DOA. Those games all have semi-naked men and women who desperately try to look sexy. Hell what about Soul Calibur.

.....or Final Fantasy XIII? Lightning has her inner thigh pointing to the camera on the freakin' box?

Most things use sex to sell. Many things that are based on sex, are great.

I mean, what about porn? It is the direct result of selling sex, and basing its viewing experience around it. Some porn is great. Don't tell me you think all porn sucks?

Also, anime. There is a lot of anime that not only contains, but is based around fan service. Some of it is fantastic, like Love Hina. I wonder if you dislike those things just because they use sex to sell themselves.

Honestly guys, I really don't see the God of War comparisons. Yes, they're both action games but...

I just really hope that come Bayonetta release we're not talking about how much better it is than every God of War... Seems like a really weird and tangential thing for Bayonetta to aspire to.
