It'll be hard for God of War III to match Bayonetta critically on a lot of these sites, even if it gets perfect scores, it won't fare much better with the top tier critics at least.

That alone, is saying a lot for the game. It is, for all intents and purposes, great. It's probably on the road to AAA, and this is a multiplat with little hype or graphical prowess to help its review scores. Amazing.

It's a shame that the game is so much worse on PS3. That'll cause the game to lose a lot of its hype and prestige on the internet, due to fanboy backlash. :P They should have just made this game exclusive, imho. Would have probably helped it out some.....however I am glad that PS3 fans do get a chance to play this game even if it is slightly inferior, like 360 fans and FFXIII.

Really amazing game but I have a feeling It's not going to sell extremely well in the US. I'll probably pick it up when It's the $20 or $30 range.

I don't think it was very expensive to be honest. It has ideas, style and substance...but it doesn't have that "we spent so much that we need to sell 2 million to break even" look to it.

I hope it does well obviously. And I hope there is no sequel...unless devs have enough ideas and FEEL like making a sequel. Too often do we get sequels for games just because they sell well whch have to reason for existence other than to milk the franchise and make some more money.

Also, this thread has been vindicated. After seeing the new reviews, you were right OP. Most people didn't realize how good Bayonetta is. Is there anyone who thinks that their opinion of the game not being good has to do with lack of quality? No. Personal taste is the last excuse anyone has for not admitting greatness.. The game is quality, and it's the IGN reviewers favorite action game yet....omfg, lol.

Again: don't cite IGN for value metrics on action games

There is a Penny arcade slide somewhere that can be used to describe every situation known to man.

...you're actually right, God Hand was awesome, and IGN are IGNorant.

However, IGN has changed a lot. GH would never get that score now.

...anyway, the game has been getting great reviews, user and otherwise, from virtually everyone everywhere, plus there is the guy and the studio who created it for your pedigree requirements, so I think it's safe to say that most people(who thought the game might be shit) didn't realize how good it actually was, which is at least "pretty good" and at IGN "the best action game ever."

I tried the Bayonetta demo. It's kick ass. Platinum Games really knows how to make games with style. I won't be getting it at release though. Sometime later. Going through some backlog maintenance (and I'll probably be importing Mushihimesama Futari Ver 1.5, which should cost me a pretty penny. lol) Bayonetta is definitely one of the games I'm most looking forward to.
