Forums - Gaming - Which console has improved the most since its launch?

PS3. When it launched, and for the first eight months or so:

-$600
-Very few quality exclusives
-Few quality games of any sort, really.
-Highly inferior versions of multiplat games.
-PSN was laughably bad.

And now:

-$300
-Many quality exclusives
-Many quality games of all genres.
-Most multiplat games' differences between versions are miniscule and almost unnoticeable.
-PSN is a fantastic service, and still free.

PS3, most of us agree on that.

Nevertheless, both xbox360 and Wii have also improved a lot since their lunch. I would say console improvement is a characteristic of this generation.

The PS3, it's improved so many things with firmware updates, it's improved it's online, it's improved the multiplatform quality, it's improved it's image amongst consumers, and it's improved it's pricing situation.

By comparison the PS3 we have today is worlds apart from what it was the at launch.

The 360 follows the PS3, but most of it's improvements have just been via firmware updates with new features and the like being added and the live service being more better than it was at launch.

The wii in my opinion has barely improved, it's almost identical to what it was at launch with the exception of a few enhancements, but nothing when compared to the improvements that the PS3 and 360 had since launch, and now wiimotion plus isn't included because I'm talking about out of the box.

I am a xbox fan but its easily the ps3,online is ALOT better but its still not as good as live (probably wont ever change)but from where it was in the begining it has gotten alot better.Ps3 has gotten alot better since launch and is selling good but it most likely wont surpass 360,but sony has learned from their mistakes.

ps3 because, had no good games, high price, didnt have trophies or in game xmb, psn was crap. But now good price, lots of good games, and through lots of firmwares its improved loads.

PS3 went from being a waste of time and money to the best console of the bunch. The thing had a staggering amount of problems at launch, now I could count its flaws on one hand.

PS3 because of the improved online experience (Home!), dual shock :), and games to compliment the good hardware.

360 console technically has improved the most as it's gone from having hardware issues to being solid (so far as I know). Not trying to troll here just how I see it as a pure electronic device.

PS3 technically has actually gone backwards a bit, losing BC, memory card slots, etc. although this has been offset with better electrical consumption and the like with the Slim so it kind of evens out IMO

Wii hasn't changed at all in a technical sense so far as I know.

PSN has improved more than Live I think, but then you'd expect that looking at where it started.

Both 360 and PS3 have seen huge jumps in games/libraries so I think that's pretty even.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

PS3, though mostly because it initially lacked features that should have been there, like trophies, in game XMB and background downloading. The games have also taken a little while to come, but now I think it has the best software of any system

ps3 because it has best games, a good online service, high def movie playback, improved media functions and more promising future.
