AC2 should be GOTY on every platform it has been released !

This years multiplat releases are at least equal to any exclusive game. (IMO better than any of the exclusives game, but I don't want to argue with Sony fans about Uncharted 2....)

Assassin's Creed II is a great game, but I really feel IGN should give specific platform GOTY awards to exclusives. If I'm not mistaken, this was the very same case with 2007 (COD4) and 2008 (Fallout 3). This year, I feel Forza 3 deserved it the most.

I'd honestly put ACII up there with Uncharted 2. You're not alone.

As long as mw2 doesn't win I'm satisfied, why does mw2 deserve a GOTY-award if the very similar prequel allready got one?

While AC2 is a VERY good game, i would have gave it to L4D2.

Im not complaining or "using" this against the 360.  If PS3 GOTY was multiplat my opinion would still stand as it is. To me its just logical to give an award for GOTY to the console exclusives.  Im glad AC2 got the attention it deserves.  I was hoping for Forza 3 to get the award though. 

I'm glad to see multi-platform games not only being considered for game of the year but winning. AC2 was great. So was MW2 and Arkham Asylum. If weren't for Uncharted 2, one of those three games would have won GOTY for all systems.

I wish Forza 3 got it....anyways can't win everything...

I don't disagree with you at all, they're both great games. Let me explain further:

Call of Duty 4 was a revolutionary videogame of incredibly high quality, and its popularity was immense. Modern Warfare 2, while a fantastic game, wasn't leaps and bounds about CoD4, and I don't really think it met the immense hype it had. Assassin's Creed 2 succeeded in both regards.

Is Ubisoft sponsoring every game site? Maybe it's the "No review copy unless high score" policy? I know people who bought it and after a week it they said it turned into a "whatever" game. L4D2 or Forza 3 should have won because they actually keep your interest. I hated games that were "Whoah" then a week later "It was okay, I won't play this again" like AC1 and Red Faction:Guerilla.
