"Will sony make the biggest turn around in gaming history?"

Drop the word will, replace Sony with Nintendo, change make to made, and add a period at the end. Sorry I just hate when people leave their posts full of typos.

Was it also designed to eat half the profits they ever made in gaming, with more losses to come real soon?

I think there are two important questions which need to be answered in order to make this a reasonably plausable outcome:

What will Sony do to keep customers from buying Wii or XBox 360 systems until 2009/2010 when the PS3 becomes a more acceptable price (for most families)?

What will Sony do to prevent third party publishers from moving most of their development resources to the less expensive to develop for and more popular Wii?

Right now Sony is in a tough position because if they lose the customers they will lose the developers, or if they lose the developers they will lose the customers, and every month they lose ground on both fronts to their competition.

woo, sony outsold 360 in UK, so it must be turning things around since the UK is SUCH A HUGE MARKET!

Seriously, if they wanted to spread truth, they would of said, even with sony dominating japan and others over 360, its still losing WW ~-~. If it cant outsell the 360 after a price cut, when can it?

Actually the U.K is the worlds fourth largest market and a massive number (though falling in recent years) of developers are based here. Big franchises from the u.k originaly include G.T.A, tomb raider and wipeout, big franchises such as Haze are being developed there so it is actually a pretty big market. something like 10% of all PS2 sales were from their, quite a lot

Yea but hey,the ps3 still cost more than the 360,and its outselling the 360 in europe. And in japan, the only thing is that north america is the largest market, and micro$oft has taken that market over. Its going to be very hard for the ps3 to outsell the 360 there.

Buty Im starting to see a transition from xbox to ps3.. not through fanboys but through gamers. Today I went to best buy and I was amazed, there were people buying ps3's and it was the 40gb.

that was hilarious. and completely true.

i liked how in the article they make it sound like the ps3 is actually starting to gain ground on its competitors and is about to start rapidly gaining. when the reality is even if its doing better than it was, the gap with 360 is still widening, its still selling poorly in 2 of 3 markets, and the third market it isn't even selling great, just decent. and its not even fair to talk about the ps3 in the same sentence as the wii cuz worldwide sale of ps3 are having a tough time competing with just wii USA sales, not to mention the other two markets in which the wii also sells by far the best. the article should have read "After Nintendo made the biggest turnaround in gaming history, the former marketleader Sony is continuing to plant itself more firmly in last place with every passing week." now that would be a heck of a title to an article!! :)

Please dont bring the wii into the situation. I should have just left it 360 vs ps3 in sales.

Even without the Wii, things still look bleak. Doesn't really make a difference. Its like saying, dont compare the Daewoo with the Ferrari, that isnt fair, I just want to compare it to a Benz. (yeah, i know, shitty example, but you get what I am saying).
