Forums - Sony - Local PS3 stock levels - eating up 360 shelf space

Yes hype for the Wii is slowly falling (not dying) and by the end of 2010

In summer 2008 certain people were actually upset the Wii was actually in stock en masse at this store:

Now despite the price cut the Wii seems available everywhere and selling at a slower pace. IMO as night and day difference. BTW I predicted this a few years ago for 2009 to start to take into effect during the hights of the hype. I anticipate this trend to facilitate for 2010.

@ layrider

And finally, if you rely on financial reports for sales data, why are you on VGC?

For indications, for example Pachter shares his (usually bad) estimates but follows the NPD estimates (far better resources for this sort of research) as well as the amount of units sold to retail (the most objective measure/figures we can get).

IMO VGChartz is the best console/game sales community website available on the internet, but I would love to see them compile more financial data for easy comparisons. Like PS1, 360, PS3 shipped data which is available for easy comparisons.

I noticed the throwaway "last gen" slight on the Wii that everyone seemed to miss MikeB. Bit low that.

I noticed it too... IMVHO the only Wii shortcoming is that they added tracking precision with WM+, it wasn't there since the beginning.

But despite supporting Sony as a barrier against eccessive MS power, I'm a lot more disappointed by the little amount of main RAM mounted on PS3, that prevented it from being what MS feared most, a console able to work as a general purpose home PC.

I think those cheap digs at Wii are, well, not worth looking for adjectives
