i dont think this really is the PS3 slim, that will come maybe 2011? and be close to PS2 size, its a big posibility that Cloud storage will be the norm by PS4, i just feel sorry for anyone without internet or slow internet

That will be everyone in the UK then, the broadband tecnology needs a update here so we have access to faster speeds like in Japan and in the US.

Don't get me wrong the speed we have is fine if you are dowloading small items, but with the industry possibly making a move to DD, it would take far too long to download the content required for a ps3 game.

i agree mate, its worrying to think that by end of this gen start of next they expect us to be able to download a 50GB game, its out of the question! lol

Cloud Storage would be wonderful as an option. Being able to back up your files, or even 'e-mail' them to a friend, would be a fantastic addition to gaming.

But if they decided not to give any of their systems a way to store data locally, the result would be me never buying one of their products ever again.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

It is basically a way of being able to access software, games, and applications without the need for a powerful hardware device.
The only problem i can see with it is that all your personal data will be stored on a server somewhere, including your files, games and applications, PS Cloud will start off with offering small things but eventually everything (if successful) will go through it, there you go 1 multipurpose solution for all.

it's the future of handheld

PS VITA = LIFE

Using networked storage could work, but not on the PS3. How would the games be able to install themselves and stream content off the network? Surely they aren't expecting that people have a broadband connection as fast as a hard drive.

To sum up, I call BS.

@coolest guy ever, hey install 2 NIC's in your computer and use ICS to share the connection to the ps3, there should be tuts online to get em both on at the same time.

i think sony is way too ambitious, maybe they will try again in 5 years.

It could have also been made smaller by removing the RAM... Wouldn't have made for a good gamig system though.

My Wii is only connected to the net a few months a year, I would rather not be limited to only gaming during those few months

I notice many people these days are stuck on this " small small , get things smaller, the smaller the better" I hate it, I don't want things hugh but man some of these new cell phones I can barely dial a number. I liked the original PS3 just fine, don't get me wrong I like the slim also but I don't have a problem with the sizes of the PS3 . They don't have to make the darn thing so small it looks like a portible CD player. I like having the HDD for a lot of space, I wonder if you can use a external HD USB on the PS3 with the internal also working?

sony dont call it a ps3 slim they just call it a ps3 or the redesigned ps3

Can i just say, there is no such thing as a PS3 slim...

Yet.

EDIT: "suck thins"? Wtf... I cant type today.
