I kind of agree, but I'm very puzzled that they're calling Wii Sports Resort average. That was easily one of the best exclusives of the year. Probably the second best exclusive, behind only New Super Mario Bros. Wii.

i really enjoyed wii sports resort , (i dont know how its called in the us version) but i love the sword adventure mode , my wii sport resort is jpn version ...

Nice, the Wii is for open-minded people, people who like all genres and aren't afraid to try something new. That list of exclusives proves that, they may not get the hype of AAA HD games, but they are just as enjoyable. Im personally waiting for the Wii to get many unique JRPGs like those on the DS (E.G the world ends with you, knights in the knightmare, ASH {Concept was fantastic, but the game needed more polish}, a 3D Final Fantasy tactics game). That would make me so freakin happy.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Open-minded gamers.  Now that is something you don't find too often

Most gamers just want the next [enter generic shooter name here] or [enter crappy MUMORPUGER here]

My first thought was this might have been damage control after Casamassina's rant but it's done by IGN AU. They have tended to be a little more generous with Wii scores than the US and UK sites and looking at it that's a pretty decent exclusive list.

One thing I have noticed this year is that while the Wii hasn't gotten anything of the caliber of Mario Galaxy or Zelda TP it's gotten a host of 80+ games which were lacking in it's library earlier in the generation. Just going by metacritic 10/20 top Wii games were released this year.

The Wii actually won something... :D

In my head I've basically accepted that 2009 was a Wii software drought, but looking at my collection, nearly half my library on the Wii is 2009 games! I haven't even got Punch Out and NSMB Wii yet, and I intend to get them for Christmas.

It's pretty much clear that there weren't many (any?!) AAA-titles in 2009 for the Wii. But it is widely overlooked that there were in fact quite a few A-titles which should also appeal to "hardcore" gamers. So I agree with the article.

Still I am surprised that the Wii actually "won" that part according to IGN. If you take a look at Part 2 (the genre showdown) then the outcome looks more like what I expected

IGN AU is seeming more schizophrenic by the day, i must say. Not that i disagree with their choice, but it's a shocker given their history.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
