Alan Wake is the single 360 game that I've been looking forward to. I think it will sell pretty well and final numbers will probably be just below Killzone 2(<500,000). But to be honest I wouldn't be that surprised if Wake bombs and struggles to get 1 Mill and I wouldn't be surprised either if it catches on with the xbox community and sells 4 million.

No chance of that whatsoever.... name me one other big 360 title that has failed or will fail to reach 1m.  Aside from Too Human...

It will sail past 1m and eventually 2m.

So why would you ask that question if you know that there is a big 360 title that failed or will reach 1m? Too Human. You know the answer so why asK?

And it won't beat Killzone 2.

my point is it has only happened once.

"it was an odd statement to say it wouldnt surprise if it didnt pass 1m"... it would be a major major shock if it didnt pass 1m... you dont garee?

I hear ya.

Alan Wake isnt the type of game that's a sales monster that'll sell over 3 mil (Just like Heavy Rain) but Alan Wake will easily cross 1 mil as you said.

"eventually 2m."?

Didn't you say earlier that Alan Wake would outsell KZ2? If AW will only eventually go past 2, where do you expect KZ2 to finish?...

Did I say it would stop at 2m or eventually pass 2m?  I just dont think it will do 3m and I dont think killzone2 will do 3m either.

Eventually generally means it will be a long push. So in other words, it wont end too far above 2.

As for KZ2, its done 2.15m in under a year and is selling 20-25k+ per week. GotY Edition is also likely to be released sometime next year (some random site will give it the award, like what happened with Gears 2).

As for Alan Wake... It is fighting an uphill battle.

KZ2 is a FPS (most popular genre now...).
Alan Wake (AFAIK) is launching in a VERY crowded timeframe.
Res Evil 5 (biggest survival horror franchise by far) hasn't reached 2.5m on the 360 yet.
Dead Space (hyped up and critically acclaimed survival horror) hasn't reached 1 Million on 360.

Alan Wake?

Under 2 Million.

Now, what's your sales predictions for both of them?

@carl

They will both be between 2 and 3 million...I actually dont know which will win tbh.

I just want Alan Wake to win because it looks more interesting than just a very good looking generic shooter with nothing new.

Harsh descrpition of KZ2, it has a few things going for it other FPS games dont have...

But then again, since they removed the free roam, Alan Wake could also be called a pretty generic SH with nothing new other than a pretty face

I don't think Remedy just decided to remove free roaming for the hell of it, I'm sure they had a pretty good reason for doing so.

Dev time/costs is my guess.

If they didn't remove it, we could have been waiting until 2011 possibly...

Both will sell slightly more than 3 million, but Alan Wake will sell a lil more than KZ2.

KZ2's strength is that it's a shooter. And a shooter who got 91% Meta.

Alan Wake's main strength is that it will be an overall amazing game and get 93-94% Meta. Plus MS will market it well.

You all please member that new AAA IPs like Left 4 Dead, Bioshock and Mass Effect sold very well on the X360 (all +2.5 mill when all is said and done).

Yeah, I'm just trying to picture the look on whoever Remedy would've told from Microsoft that the game would be pushed back to 2011. Probably a few minutes of laughing followed by "uhh, no, cut that out and give us the damn game already."
