I say 3.5 million first month 8 million WW. Games usually launching on the same system in the same gen get lower sales then the first one. There are of course exceptions with games that greatly improve such as Uncharted.

7 million in a full month around the globe is possible. But not US only.

I think its too early to say.. Some time brands do start to show age... secondly i wander if Halo: ODST has improved on the brand name or left a negative taste.

Seconly i think CoD is simply becoming bigger franchise than Halo.. But with MS marketing muscles n almost unlimited funds, anything can happen

I don't think it will launch as big as the 360 version of MW2. ODST has probably damaged the series by being released at full price.

We'll see.

If Microsoft goes out and markets this thing as well as they did with Halo 3, we should see a new champ (assuming the game is good).

As to those people saying ODST and Halowars has damaged the franchise? You obviously don't know the franchise that well. Those games were top quality and most people who like the franchise loved those as well. The only issue I can see is that Bungie charged full price for ODST, but if your not a big time halo fan it was well worth the price because you get the map packs.

I would say his prediction was more due to the power of the franchise and not just a cut scene. :D

A 33% tie ratio after one month isn't in any way a conservative estimate. And you really can't use ratios from 2007 for some future title when the install has more than trippled by then. I think it will be hard enough to beat Modern Warfare 2, let alone destroy it by the amount it OP is suggesting.
