Well, the two reference points we have (VC launch month, VC ltd through Jan 2009) both have VGC overtracking NPD by 20-30%, which is too high a margin to count for Canada/Mexico (where VC was given a "limited" launch anyway).  We need a new NPD ltd leak to make sure though, but it's looking like VGC was overtracking it from day one.

It'd be nice if Sega gave out shipment figures too.  Maybe when VC2 gets closer to release, they might throw sales in a PR if the turnaround's as dramatic as VGC implies?

It's always possible.  That's why I'd like to see a more recent leak, to see if there's been any upwards adjustment.

Edit: looking at a few other titles, there may be something to VGC overtracking some PS games.  They have Uncharted 2 a whopping ~300k above NPD, LBP PSP by ~50k over and GT PSP and AC PSP each ~100k over!  In fact they have GT higher in week 9 than NPD has it for all of November?!  Maybe it's due to demographic swings with the retailers VGC works with or something (being more PS centric than the nation)?

Actually, it's looks like they're overtracking US PSP games by huge margins generally (over 50%) versus NPD?  What's going on?

Seeing Sega shipments would be really good.
LO was already much closer to milion but got adjusted down by a lot of copies when LTD sales were reported somewhere.

The north American cover of lost oddyssey is soooo sick I'm surprised the Japanese one is so ugly.


I think Lost Odyssey will finish on top. But putting sales aside, valkyria does not even come close to lost odyssey in terms of quality.

i think valkyria chronicles will cross 1 million 1st, which is extremely sad and very disappointing as well. vc is a good game, but for me its not in the same league as lost odyssey. the reason is for me lost odyssey is the best rpg ever and has the best story and the dreams in the game are extremely well written. i have now beaten lost odyssey 7 times and still enjoy and love playing it each time.

Lost Odyssey = Best JRPG this gen so far (this may change with FFXIII, or maybe not)
