I must say this article is riddled with flaws. Particularly the authors usage of incorrect and misleading information. Such as the Walmart deal. It was not and in no way shape or form could ever be a $99 Xbox 360 Arcade deal. You had to pay $199, could not use the gift card on that purchase, and you had to be very lucky to be able to find 2 systems that day to actually use the gift card on a second system purchase. If anything, if you used that gift card on a starter pack, it would be like getting the old $250 Pro 60GB model for just $200.
Then he uses the rumored and falsified number of 1 million 360's banned. He even says "OVER a million" which is very misleading. Microsoft themselves outright denied that outrageous number. They didn't give an exact number, but I highly doubt it was that many. It started as a rampant internet rumor and something as shocking as that will get spread like wildfire, but it's still wrong.
Now don't get me wrong, obviously the Walmart deal, the MW2 bundle, and the banning did boost sales in some way or another (though most modders will just buy a broken system off of Ebay to fix and use rather than buy a new one), but this author went the extra mile to mislead others.
I guess this just seems a somewhat desperate attempt of a PS3 fanboy with a blog to reassure people in this stupid and pointless console war? Even if the 360 outsells the PS3 in NA for the remainder of the year as well (or vice versa), why does it matter? The PS3 is still seeing large growth YoY now, and the sales are much higher than before so why are you complaining still? Be happy and play your new bought systems, people!
