I have to agree.

Disagreeing with his actions is one thing but to step in and seek retribution?  Taking it a bit far imo. 

I would feel bad if he hadn't had placed it in a public place like an Ebay auction but since he posted the subject of the auction which made it incredibly easy to find (the first one that came up in a search) and placed his email in the action (where spam bots are going to find it anyways) I really don't feel too bad.

How about I'll be nice and at least remove the mailto (since I really don't think it matters that much anyways).

And I realize finding your auction may not have been nice but I don't mind being a jerk to another jerk.

I would agree that I should pay if I technically did something wrong. If I had really gone and done digging or actually even spammed his Ebay account and bragged about it here then yeah, that would be bad. But since I didn't technically do anything wrong (the same technically he didn't do anything wrong) and only did one quick search and found the first auction, there's nothing wrong with that.

Remember, he's the one that posted his Ebay auction subject and actually put his email in his auction.

I was referring to the fact that people like you and others (I won't name names) took him to task for a very simple, innocuous thing. I thought it was funny at first to call him a douche or whatever. But after about page 1 it became a lot more venemous and insulting....just because the guy was taking part in the capitalist's machina. So he paid the price for bragging.

Now you are bragging about how easy it was to find the item (of course it was) and you went so far as to brag how easy it was and even to add insult to injury by showing everyone else that you had done it. What you've done isn't seriously wrong, but neither is what Cdude did. Yet you didn't let water slide of the proverbial duck's back for him....so why should we for you behaving like an ass.

I won't continue defending my point, or try to convince you that what you did was wrong. I just think the irony is thick around these parts and it could use a little pointing out.

Honestly I don't think either are that big of a deal, I just don't think this needs to escalate any further than it already has is all.

In the other thread he posted the info you said what you thought of it, I just don't think we need another thread where the same argument is rehashed and escalates to a multipage dump on one guy, who ultimately didn't do anything that horrible (relatively speaking).

I can see where both sides are coming from and really there is nothing new to say.

You went out of your way to be an ass to me. Whether you thought I was doing anything wrong or not was never the question. In thread one, I asked about Wii sales in certain areas. In this thread all I did was post the info I said I was going to post.

In my eyes, yeah, that deserves a little internet fun and mockery. Not saying I'm right or wrong, I'm just having fun.  And perhaps I did go too far with adding the mailto, that's why I removed it.  But like others have said, you put it in your Ebay auction so it really doesn't make much difference anyways.
