Forums - Nintendo - Wii software surprises -- is it me or is it impossible to keep up

It used to be that all I had to do was go to Gamestop to find all the latest software releases.

But late last generation,  I realized that the chain did not stock/no longer stocked every game. (It might have decided that before, but it became apparent to me).

This is particularly true with respect to the Wii -- because no one seems to have every game.

This week, I went to Best Buy and saw Pinball Hall of Fame Gotlieb. I went to Toys R Us and saw Kidz Crazy Mini Golf 2 (and Chess and Darts). I went to Wal-Mart and saw Secret Saturdays.

There are so many titles that I can't keep up -- and I live on the Internet. Could there be game overload for the system?

I am Mario.

I like to jump around, and would lead a fairly serene and aimless existence if it weren't for my friends always getting into trouble. I love to help out, even when it puts me at risk. I seem to make friends with people who just can't stay out of trouble.

When it comes to "shovelware" certain retailers stock certain games. A vast majority are going to be stealth releases so you'll really have to be on top of those release schedules out there.

Yeah, there was a time when I was always on the look out for Zack & Wiki in retailers. It's never been a must have title, but I thought to myself "Well, if I do see it at a good price, I'll buy it."

I have yet to see it, and I have yet to buy it.

Good luck.  Last time I saw that game on a store shelf was probably mid 2008.  I eventually broke down and ordered it online.  I wish I would have picked it up when Toys R Us had the game on clearance.  I ended up paying more than I should have, and got it at a much later date.

I guess you could always buy it used, but I don't like to do that personally.

I have a chip in my Wii, and believe you me, there is a massive overload of casual crap games. Nintendo should really start to enforce some minimum standards, because all the crap is hurting the image of the Wii.

^yeah
the seal of quality needs meaning again

yer but if they bring quality control back then there will be no 3rd party support.

remember those excuses in the n64 days.

So it is a matter of if you rather have some third party support or just a Nintendo console

**cough** Action Girlz Racing **cough**
The sistem has a lot of useless games that are never sucessfull.... maybe wii play

They would only lose the crap support, which they don't need anyway. It's not like it needs to be a strict control, but just some kind of filter to weed out the worst of the worst. In my opinion, compnies like Zoo hurts the Wii more than it helps it, and if I was in control, I'd cut those leeches off.

Make sure you qualify that statement, he mentioned the Pinball Hall of Fame Gottlieb Collection, Farsights pinball collections are of the highest quality and are the farthest thing from shovelware,

anyway I'm thrilled to see the gottlieb hall of fame coming out for the wii in the US, I'll buy it today
