Ha ha ha, but really, everyone posts in the forums like they are blogs anyway so I don't feel the need.

besides if you have blogs your now going to have Mods go thru to keep tabs on whats going on--so basicaly
Blogs = More Mods, Harsher Opinions, and more trolls

| twesterm said: I HATE COMMUNITY BLOGS I'm sorry, but I really do hate those. They completely destroy the forums (look at Destructoid) and they are rarely more interesting than just topics on a forum. On top of that, they're harder to sift through to actually find something to read. Lets say these things do happen and I want to read things on Zack & Wiki, well instead of just heading over to the Nintendo section I have to wade through the c blogs because people would much rather promote their c blog than make a forum post. This site really does a lot already and should probably make sure it does all those things perfectly (or near at least) before it thinks about expanding. This even really isn't a news site or any place where blogs would fit. |
^ twesterm knows.
This website is better off without blogs than with them.

not really interesred. forums are much better to get news and opinions.
Blogs will be a nice addition. But let it be like the news section. Don't allow everybody to post blogs. Only a dedicated blog team who have something to say. Like a column in a newspaper.

If I had a choice (And I don't right now, but may later), I'd always stick with forums. Unless you have a favourite poster, it's better just to go through topics of interest. Besides, when I make a topic, it's such blatant self promotion it feels like I'm blogging without turning emo and wearing girl's pants.
See Ya George.

I think blogs from certain select people who may have some interesting insightful look at the industry or just for VG Chartz updates. As Joemanji says - like newspaper columnists. A dedicated Sony / MS / Nintendo blog might help some of the percieved imbalance (Wii favouritism) on this site.
Not a free-for-all though. Leave that to the forums.
A few blogs run by a select few posters would be cool - one on VGChartz itself, one on console numbers, one on game sales, one on gaming culture in general, etc. The main thing is to not duplicate what the forums are doing - blogs need well-written, comprehensive articles, written every so often, not just random musings tossed out at 3 am. Not sure who would get selected or how, though.
