sounds great, but its a shame about the length, and the multiplayer. The 8 seems justified to me

The N64 one had "simple" graphics too, but you really didn't even notice it once the screen got full of things to shoot at and dodge from. Stills, or even videos, can't make a game like this justice. Also, it's running at 60 fps now, which is great for a game like this, specially since (I heard) they actually geared up the game since it's so much easier with the Wiimote.
Sure, it's on a console that's not nearly as constrained as N64 and could probably still have better graphics, but it's not really a big issue in this game, you'd most likely be making a mistake if you pass on it just cause of that.
it's hard to give a game like this a high score, it's hard to get high replay value out of the genre.
currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

That's actually the correct definition of a rail-shooter: games like House of the Dead are more "properly" called "light-gun" games, while titles like this, Starfox, Panzer Dragoon, etc. are "rail shooters."

I don't agree games like this are the games I replay the most. I've put more time into railshooters than any other genre on Wii.

Haha, wow you're the only person I've ever seen agree with me on this, good to know I'm not the only one who disliked the game.
... Although I did like Lylat Wars...

I should beat you with a burning stick.
Of course, you're allowed to have your own opinion. But only if I'm allowed to imagine myself beating your opinion with a burning stick.

Feel free, but you'll have to imagine my opinions housed in a locked fireproof brick container as that's where I keep them.

... ;_; You, sir, are a dreamcrusher.
first day buy for me.. well not exactly first day buy probably i will buy it on week 3... i loved sin and punishment on N64 years ago so i am pumped for this, the lighting effects looks beautiful in this game, i dont see any laziness at all in this game.. i consider devs lazy in 2008 but they got better with the wii's technology now
so what is this? a niche title? or a high quality top shelf title?
