Suprnova.org was the first big torrent site. It was a lot bigger than pirate bay.
Anyway piratebay is being monitored by the FBI now, that's why people say it's dead.
If only piratebay had cracked down on its.....cake....it wouldn't have been targeted as much as it was.
There is only like 20 more torrent sites, oh noez! I'll have to steal games somewhere else... oh wait, I just did.

This is probably the wrong site to complain on. I used Mininova as well and will miss it. I used it primarily for TV shows. I can't get the channels that send them over here and I have to wait between one and two years before the shows eventually reach Norway...
Not an option in my opinion, living in the icy wastes sure has it drawbacks!

The Pirate Bay is the biggest torrent site by user count by far. The FBI has absolutely no bearing on TPBs operations. It's still up and running, go check.

It is being monitored. It is still functional. People say it's dead because it's being watched now, whereas it wasn't before.
You don't have to believe me, whatever.
hmmmm most of you might say that this doesnt hurt piracy a tad, but imo there's no denying that deleting such an enormous collection of data is in fact quite a cut.
I mean, mininovas offer was amazingly vast, you could actually find everything there ( from USA at least, i was unfortunate to find european stuff at some times).
so dont play it down!

This sucks for me cause its where I get my top gears, south parks and other TV goodies that are not shown in my country or are delayed.
