Forums - Sales - Americas Preorder Charts- 8th December 2009

Darth youre doing it again... same thing you did with PSP Go... same thing you did with KZ2 sales... youre leaving yourself to be dissapointed again.

That billboard hurts your arguement. It had a massive ad and people didn't pre-order it... you think the beta is bigger then 3 huge ads on the side of buildings?

Around the Network

are these retail preorders or consumer preorders
Sorry for my ignorance. :$

Regarding FF13 guys:

Remember Uncharted 2's pre-order levels 3 months before its launch?

yeah no need to worry AT ALL in that department

I do... they ended with 297k preorders and looking at the charts thats where it would have ended... looking at these charts looks like FF13 will end with less then 200k.

Obviously you failed at understanding what I said

look at Uncharted 2's pre-order numbers 3 months prior to its launch

FF13 is in no trouble at all

It has fewer pre-orders than Alpha Protocol, and you say it's not in trouble...

no its still not in trouble

remember alpha protocol was delayed from a holiday release, so its initial pre-orders were much higher than FF13

Besides FF13 is destroying it in weekly increases

@The Thunder

what bet?

True. But what about Bad Company 2? Same release week, MUCH higher pre-orders, AND roughly double the weekly change.

BC sold around 1.1 million in the Americas

FFXII sold 1.86 million in the Americas, FFX sold 2.74 million.

Bad Company 2 has a beta going on right now

GOW collection has just released

Ofcourse GOW3 & Battle Company are high

remember what MAG's beta did for it? Unbelievable increases

Let the FF13 demo come out & we'll see the pre-orders

one final thing, FF13 will get more marketing that GOW3, Bad Company 2, Uncharted 2 & MAG

FFXIII Billboards Appear In Los Angeles

New advertisements confirm 2010 release date, suggest heavy presence at E3.

By Kat Bailey, 05/25/2009

_____
oh and that was just at last E3.....in one of LA's most expensive advertising spots
expect bigger things closer to FF13's launch
once again, there is no need to worry about its numbers

Nobody's going to have no interest in a game, see billboards of characters on a huge building, and think "ZOMG I'M GOING TO BUY THAT GAME!"

It will do well, just not as well as Conviction, BC2, or GoW3, and nowhere near as well as previous Final Fantasies.

Also not 10 million.

Which thread?

Perhaps it's just great minds thinking alike.

That what they did for FF7

don't under-estimate MASS MARKETING & loads of TV spots leading to HUGE sales

your whole argument is based on pre-orders

the fact is those other games are either closer, have a beta out or something like GOW collection.

Final Fantasy 13 will outsell FF10 in USA & you'll be left watching

@letsdance

my PSP GO prediction was spot on....it flopped

my KZ2 prediction was off by 500K....but better than all the 3 million & 4 millions people predicted

oh and a BETA thats countrywide & that has good responses >>>>> A billboard in 1 City in the US put up in E3 2009 i.e. around 9 months before FF13's launch

EDIT:

kantor are you sure you wanna be agreeing with this logic?

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Reach starts its climb to the top.

Yeah that turned out well

A billboard of a moderatley well known/selling franchise is one thing. A billboard of the most successful JRPG franchise around is a horse of another color.

And you are right indeed but I didn't say that FF will have R2 kinda sales. The series is losing popularity since the golden PS1 days and a couple of billboards won't drive the sales all the way to 10 million according to some user who shall be anonymous
