Forums - Nintendo - Official Flowerworks (WiiWare) thread, plus more...

It's very cool that your're the CEO of a studio, and I hope your game does well. It looks very interesting, and after some reviews, it will be on my list to download after the holidays (or maybe I'll get it in the Wii Secret Santa thing).
For the gameplay element from Super Mario Galaxy, after watching a video of Flowerworks the only thing I thought of was collecting the starbits by hovering over them with the reticule?
Also, I hope this isn't to detailed of a question, but I've been interested in how developers get sales information for WiiWare (and digital distribution games in general), are you able to see real-time downloads of the game, or does Nintendo just occasionally update you on the sales?

@09tarheel
Not just collecting star bits but also pull star physics.

Pixel Art can be fun.

Well picked :)

Yes, in galaxy first you can pick up items just by waving the Wiimote over them - and then fire them again by moving and pressing a button. Its direct control (similar to a mouse cursor), and its pretty close to how the core control in Flowerworks works. Its sort of challenging (and unusual) to link a character directly to Wiimote cursor location... but this does it.

re: second question - sorry, I don't think I can fully answer that. The general (non-WiiWare) answer is usually sales feedback is almost instantanous (i.e. AppStore). Makes sense really - since all sales are done digitally, a database somewhere instantly when each sale occurs.

Gesta Non Verba

Nocturnal is helping companies get cheaper game ratings in Australia:

Game Assessment website

Wii code: 2263 4706 2910 1099

That feature was great in Super Mario Galaxy, so I'm sure it will be a lot of fun in Flowerworks as well. No problem about the second question, but thanks for the general answer you're right that does make sense.

i said in your forums that i liked popping bubbles by ramming them and the ir controls. also, the wiiware version just seems more fast-paced to me. maybe it because everything is smaller, but it just fells that way.

loving it so far. i'll post the nintendolife review asap (maybe tomarrow)

this game looks fabulous, Can't wait for it too release.

Depending on who I draw, I'm seriously considering giving this to a Tiny Tim around the 10th.

That's a great idea.

If I get shams, I'll definitely Tiny Tim him this.

Why doesn't said starbits explode into mass amounts of blood and gore? On a more serious note... I'll support your flowerworks if you can give us some more insight onto the wiiware game approval process the developer application/licensing process and overall some of your game development processes... All at once is not necessary... It would just be some helpful information... Oh and can we see some vidoes/ screenshots in the original thread.

Thank you.

Neat... I hope the Europe release doesn't take too long.
