It looks very interesting, and after some reviews, it will be on my list to download after the holidays (or maybe I'll get it in the Wii Secret Santa thing). For the gameplay element from Super Mario Galaxy, after watching a video of Flowerworks the only thing I thought of was collecting the starbits by hovering over them with the reticule? Also, I hope this isn't to detailed of a question, but I've been interested in how developers get sales information for WiiWare (and digital distribution games in general), are you able to see real-time downloads of the game, or does Nintendo just occasionally update you on the sales? |
Well picked :)
Yes, in galaxy first you can pick up items just by waving the Wiimote over them - and then fire them again by moving and pressing a button. Its direct control (similar to a mouse cursor), and its pretty close to how the core control in Flowerworks works. Its sort of challenging (and unusual) to link a character directly to Wiimote cursor location... but this does it.
re: second question - sorry, I don't think I can fully answer that. The general (non-WiiWare) answer is usually sales feedback is almost instantanous (i.e. AppStore). Makes sense really - since all sales are done digitally, a database somewhere instantly when each sale occurs.
